(CNN)Philippines President Rodrigo Duterte tore into President Obama with an obscenity on Monday, leading the White House to cancel an upcoming meeting with Duterte.

White House officials previously said Obama would confront Duterte about his country's handling of drug dealers, including extrajudicial killings, which are government executions without the benefit of judicial proceedings.
"Who does he think he is? I am no American puppet. I am the president of a sovereign country and I am not answerable to anyone except the Filipino people," Duterte scoffed in a speech Monday. "Son of a bitch, I will swear at you."
Obama and Duterte had been set to meet in Laos this week, where Obama is attending a meeting of Southeast Asian leaders.
Obama instead will meet on Tuesday with President Park Geun-hye of South Korea.

Duterte also blamed the United States for causing the unrest on the southern Philippines island of Mindanao.
"As a matter of fact, we inherited this problem from the United States," he said. "Why? Because they invaded this country and made us their subjugated people. Everybody has a terrible record of extrajudicial killing. Why make an issue about fighting crime?"
He added: "Look at the human rights of America along that line. The way they treat the migrants there."

In response, Obama suggested earlier Monday his planned meeting with Duterte might not go forward.
"I always want to make sure if I'm having a meeting that it's productive and we're getting something done," Obama said during a news conference.
"If and when we have a meeting, this is something that is going to be brought up," Obama said, referring to the Philippines' controversial record of combating drug crime since Duterte took office earlier this year.
Later, on Monday afternoon, the White House announced the meeting was canceled.

Obozo gets in the butt Guess I better cancel, sorry idiot POS!!!

Rodrigo Duterte recieved 72% of the allotted delegates...and the popular vote, he's in, and nobody is going to remove him...he's doing exactly like he said he was going to do once he became President, no big deal; the people are behind him. and recent Obama's intrusion into another countries affaires (especially when it has nothing to do with the USA...those of you who have a hard time understanding just what is meant by being called "the son of a girl" I recommend that you 'google-it' to gain comprehensional development in regards to Philippino culture/slang sub-phrasing, nothing new..they do it everyday in L.A. I've heard that termonology used for years.

Duterte apparently just apologized, sort of...

Duterte's aides realized it would be unwise to take on the most powerful official in the world, and that there would be a price to pay for insulting the president of the United States.

"I do not want to quarrel with the most powerful country on the planet," said Duterte.

I think Filipinos live in the past. The United States USED to be respected as the most powerful country. Obama is the most laughed at and weakest president in US history. A price to pay for insulting Obama.

What price would that be? Iran insulted Obama and the US repeatedly and were awarded 11 billion dollars. Duterte should keep on insulting him so his country could get paid too.

Philippine President has a combative style and previously accused other leaders too such as the Pope and UN chief.  In a rare sign of respect, he regrets insulting Obama and says "we look forward to ironing out our differences.... and working on mutually responsive ways for both countries."

United States is one of the Philippines largest trading partners and a key security ally providing millions in financial assistance.

Like what does he get done?

Dictators are able to get a lot done with no checks and balances and opposition.  America is designed for govt to be slow and prudent.  When one man dictates everything to happen I bet things get done.  Dictatorships might be for some who feel happy under them.  But to me giving up the process our forefathers laid out for us just to get things done seems so unamerican

What would you like the GOP congress to do for you?

More specifically, what can they do to make Darkhorse happier and more prosperous?

Do you smell what your shoveling? The FBI has been made part of the Obama Administration. Who's watching the watchers? Clinton's up to her eyeballs in corruption and mishandling Classified Information and nothing happens. We're no better than a 3rd world country now thanks to our first EOE President... Transparency - yeah right...

in 1989, Duterte was Davao's mayor when Australian missionary Jacqueline Hamill was gang-raped and murdered during a riot at the prison where she worked. Last april, Duterte revisited the crime and stated the following

I saw her face and I thought: ‘Son of a girl. what a pity … they raped her, they all lined up. I was mad she was raped but she was so beautiful. I thought, the mayor should have been first”.

Then Duterted called the pope "son-of-a- w*h*o*r*e" for causing traffic during a visit in Manilla

he also called the US Ambassador
"a g*a*y son of a w*h*o*r*e"

Snubbed U.N. chief Ban ki-Moon and his “stupid” organization

Bragged about having two wives and two girlfriends

Fair Enough

He has had a congress for almost 8 years. The first 2 years controlled by his own party. the last 6 controlled by his opposition. Which I must remind you, didn't come to power until AFTER 2 YEARS of his first term. The timeline is significant mind you.

Whether it is a "DO NOTHING congress" or a congress just doing what its expected to do is purely an opinion.

now try answering my q's if you dont' mind

Shoveling?  I only asked you a question that you skirted and did not answer and I made a comment as an American talking about the structure of American government laid out for us by our founding fathers.  If anything you are shoveling nonsense and not answering my questions heal cause you are too busy droning on about who knows what like you are out of touch.

I don't know why my American perspective is shoveling anything.  Maybe you don't understand he American way.  Maybe you don't like or agree with the American way. Not sure, because you're too busy shoveling your own weird talking points and not simply answering my question about your statement

Let see Saudi Arabia tired of Obama. President of the philopeans doesn't want him around He has no friend in netanyahoo government Prince Willie could even give the man an invite to his state wedding. He was snubbed at Paris global initiative on sustainability.
He even been called a liar by a member of congress during a state of the union speech. His exec action of arming felons south of the border that has led to the death of a border agent while telling the american people to disarm.

Anyone challenging these failures are a bunch of racist saying bad words and we need to Address the disrespectful tone the current campaign Is employing.
