Over 90% of measles cases are among unvaccinated people. Low vaccination rate below 95% has lead to global resurgence. This is primarily due to vaccine hesitancy and disruptions to routine vaccinations.
Agree with your stats, now a question;
Why weren't immigrants pouring over our borders required to be vaccinated for measles?? What kinda sense does that make?
The whole theme of this thread is "Thank the anti-vaxxers" for measles, If the Biden admin allowed at least 10 million to cross our borders, refused to require them to be vaccinated for COVID and measles, just to name two, would that not make them "anti-vaxxers"???
Europe led the world in measle cases in 2024, over 100,000 cases!!!! Was that anti-vaxxers???

US law requires mandatory vaccinations of refugees and immigrant applicants for visas as part of medical exam. However in 2025, some vaccine requirements are removed during Trump administration. No evidence of significant correlation between size of immigrant population and incidence of diseases according to Cato institute. Claims that immigrants are the source of disease outbreaks are largely false.

Experts say there is no basis for Food drug administration to consider black box warning on covid vaccines. Instead of limiting vaccines to high risk groups, recommending covid vaccines to everyone could save thousands of lives according to study published in JAMA. Universal vaccination is better than hospitalization or a ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.

When see silly remarks about Covid or the vaccine 9 out of 10 times it a Trump MAGA supporter ! The cult has a common thread of pride in the ability to understand the world by intuition…Not the facts …The alternative facts! In 2020, we had 13 reported measles cases. As of last Tuesday, we had 1,912. That's a 14,608% increase. Ya think having the dude who swims in raw sewage in charge of health isn't such a good idea. Move along; nothing to see here!
CANADA HAS OVER 5000 CASES THIS YEAR, MEXICO HAS OVER 4000 CASES. BOTH COUNTRIES COMBINED HAVE LESS THAN HALF THE POPULATION OF THE UNITED STATES.
EUROPE HAD 127,000+ CASES IN 2024.
DAMN, LOOK WHAT TRUMP AND RFKjr DID!!! IN JUST THE LAST 11 MONTHS!!!

US is at risk of joining Canada and Mexico in losing measles free status after 12 months of continuous transmission. Anti-vaxxer Kennedy has a history of endangering public health. As health secretary, he has done nothing to improve vaccination against diseases in the US.

What can go wrong when the very wussy Left enables approximately 20M disease ridden human beings from hellholes to come across our border unvetted between 2020-2024? Also. I would like to know how many of the measle cases were vaccinated.

FUNNY, THERE'S NO EVIDENCE OF IMMIGRANTS CAUSING THE OUTBREAKS
Measles outbreaks are growing along the Utah-Arizona border and in South Carolina, where hundreds are in quarantine.
Between Friday and Tuesday, South Carolina health officials confirmed 27 new measles cases in an outbreak in and around northwestern Spartanburg County. In two months, 111 people have been sickened by the vaccine-preventable virus.
More than 250 people, including students from nine area elementary, middle and high schools, are in quarantine — some for the second time since the outbreak began in October. Most of the state's new cases stemmed from exposures at Way of Truth Church in Inman. Church leaders have been "very helpful," said state epidemiologist Dr. Linda Bell.
"We are faced with ongoing transmission that we anticipate will go on for many more weeks, at least in our state," Bell said.
In Arizona and Utah, an outbreak has ballooned since August. Mohave County, Arizona, has logged 172 cases and the Southwest Utah Public Health Department has logged 82 cases. The border cities of Colorado City, Arizona, and Hildale, Utah, are the heaviest hit. Overall, Utah has confirmed 115 measles cases this year. Arizona has confirmed 176.
Nationally, the measles case count is nearing 2,000 for a disease that has been considered eliminated in the U.S. since 2000. Cases have mostly spread among people who were unvaccinated.

Who lives on the Arizona/Utah border? White LDS and Navajo, that's who. And there aren't that many people on the Navajo side of things, it's pretty sparse.

The big picture: The three biggest outbreaks this year — in west Texas, along the Utah-Arizona border and now in South Carolina — all followed a familiar pattern.
The epicenters were politically conservative, outlying communities where vaccination rates were below the 95% threshold public health authorities say is necessary to contain the virus' spread.
People still travel long distances for work and necessities, increasing the risk of spillover. And in the case of South Carolina, the beginning of the outbreak in early October set the stage for a spike in cases driven by more gatherings around Thanksgiving.
Some students in South Carolina have been quarantined multiple times because of new cases detected in their schools.
What they're saying: The South Carolina Department of Public Health said there are no vaccination events now scheduled for Spartanburg County, adding its mobile health unit is available to any organization that requests a visit.
"Some cases are travel-related exposures or close contacts of known cases. Other cases have no identified source, suggesting that measles is circulating in the community and could spread further," the health department said in a statement.
Threat level:Local officials worry that people who are either electing not to keep their kids up to date on vaccines or resist the shots completely tend to live close to each other, and are creating geographic pockets of significant risk for more outbreaks.
"This is just another example of why it's important for us to have federal leadership ... our state boundaries are arbitrary in some way," Raynard Washington, health director in Mecklenburg County, N.C., which is about an hour from the outbreak center, told Axios.
"The reality is that people in Fort Mill, South Carolina, come over to Charlotte every day for work or to shop or to play."

Europe is a continent, not a country. A large portion of European countries resemble Africa more than they resemble other European countries. It's funny that you didn't mention its population size or density, because Europe is only slightly larger than the US geographically, yet it has a higher population than Mexico, the US, and Canada combined. I would say those are pretty bad odds for not getting infected by a very contagious virus. It's also wrong to say that what you see now is due to RFK Jr., because it isn't. What you see now is due to the effects of the virus, but mostly due to people not getting vaccinated in large enough numbers at the time. So, what RFK Jr. is doing is bad because he's deliberately doubling down on the bad practices during the virus that started this.
Don't mention the frogs - we don't want to scare the toddler - we want him to sleep

It is due to the Corona virus* --- and our population numbers isn't even close - it would more be like 2x Canada + 2x Mexico + US = Europe

Thank you Calde13 for words of truth. But you see this thread BLAMES Trump and RFKjr for the current outbreak. You destroyed that narrative, thanks again.
To put things apples to apples;
Canada 2025; 1,250 measle cases per million residents.
Mexico 2025; 1,000 cases per million residents
Europe 2024; 77.4 cases per million residents.
United States 2025; 5.9 cases per million residents.
Of course RFKjr cannot take credit for being well over 12 times better than Europe, 160 times better than Mexico and 212 times better than Canada. Nor can he be blamed for the 5.9 per million.
This just another partisan thread amongst a whole page full of partisan threads that have no logic whatsoever.
Over a hundred times better than Mexico and 200 times better than Canada.

The bottom line is that measles is back because of anti-vaxxers who aren’t vaxxing their kids in predominantly GOP districts. Not immigrants. Not the boogeyman. Not Biden.

Thank you Calde13 for words of truth. But you see this thread BLAMES Trump and RFKjr for the current outbreak. You destroyed that narrative, thanks again. To put things apples to apples; Canada 2025; 1,250 measle cases per million residents. Mexico 2025; 1,000 cases per million residents Europe 2024; 77.4 cases per million residents. Measles is making a comeback in the United States thanks to the proliferation of anti-science and pro-death anti-vaxxers. This time it’s happening in Florida, with Florida Man Surgeon General stupidly encouraging parents to continue sending unvaccinated kids who were exposed to measles to school. In 2022, half of the 85 toddlers infected in Ohio outbreak were hospitalized. Two doses of the MMR vaccine are 97% effective at preventing measles. One dose is 93% effective at preventing measles. Zero doses mean that a person who is exposed to the virus has a 90% chance of contracting it. Long term side effects for measles include brain damage, seizures, hearing loss, dementia, blindness, and death. Of course, the anti-vaxxers don’t want you to know this because they willfully do not care about the safety of children. Shame on Florida. Hopefully these anti-science dotards do the right thing and decide to protect the children.
Florida, with 23 million residents has only 7 confirmed measles cases in 2025 compared to the state of New York that has 21 confirmed cases among their 19.5 million residents.
New Mexico leads all states with 47.39 measle cases per million residents.

Washington post reports that Kennedy again risks children health by cancelling millions of dollars in grants to American academy of pediatrics and other healthcare organizations. Apparently, Trump administration don't need healthy US population.
