 75% plus say grocery prices are up, despite Trump’s repeat claims

“Our?groceries?are way down. Everything is way down,” Trump said November 6. “Groceries are way down, other than beef,” he said at another point. He added last week that grocery prices were “already at a much lower level than they were with the last administration.”

 But just 12% of Americans said grocery prices have gone down over the last six months, according to a new Marquette University Law School poll.

By contrast, 75% said they’ve gone up.

Some might think that because the markets are at all time highs this indicates a great economy and the majority of the nation is thriving...

Markets were also at an all time high just before THE GREAT REPUBLICAN RECESSION /economic disaster we experienced during the Bush admin.... 

You are also not doing great - everyone that thinks that either don’t understand the numbers or don’t know what to compare you to - your stock market is up 18%-ish this year - the average gain in the world stock market is 30% this year - so you have actually underperformed by 12% - just to become average for the year !

And the dollar value compared to the euro has almost fell exactly the same procentage amount as your stock market has grown - which would nullify a lot of your gains as your market is run a lot by foreign investments 

In 2025, US rate of return was less than stock markets of Europe, China and Japan.  Stock gains benefit top 20% income households that own over 80% of stocks.  In contrast, middle and poor Americans are struggling.  But stock market is not the economy.  Overall, consumer spending has been declining for months except for top 10% households accounting for nearly 50% of consumer spending.

Not "great" nope!......not under the trump regime.   But many MAGAs like to think that if the stock market is doing well here in the US then that implies that most of the working poor and most of those in the lower middle-income class are making windfall profits/dividends and enjoy several tropical vacations every year, thanks all to der Fuhrer of the MAGA Reich....

There is little to practically none guardrail whatsoever to the Trump administration, Dems got to win this upcoming midterm. Check and balance should exist in our political system. Keep fingers crossed and hope for the best.
