Essentially this article states that liberals are all for days off, and republicans like to work.  It also states that people who work at Wal-Mart deserve raises.  Let me ask you a question... what do you think someone who either greets people at the door by saying "hi" or someone who rings you out at the register is worth an hour?  $10 seems more than fair to me.  It requires no education, no skill, no energy, so why should they be rewarded?  What do you think they should be making $20 an hour?  Nurses for example make a little over $20 and that is after attending college and passing exams... so the question really comes down to why should Wal-Mart employees make anymore than $10?  Should everyone just make the same exact amount?  Maybe we should pay Wal-Mart workers the same as business owners, and manual laborers, and doctors, and everyone else... and we could all take 4 days off a week!!  That would be a wonderful world

Realistically, who are those people greeting you at Walmart? Did you know that in the Walmart (and trust me, I hate that company) manifesto, they intentionally hire senior citizens/older workers for that position? Makes sense, right? Now think about this. Yes, they are unionized and receive benefits, including health care. If Walmart wasn't provding said care, it would be taxpayers you and I.

On another note, what's UConn got in football this year? Big East is anyone's ballgame....

It is obvious that Walmart must underpay their employees tremendously as they don't even make enough money to buy food.  That is why all the employees working their are so emaciated....  How they work their difficult job with such energy and enthusiasm is beyond me...

Unions suck, they are part of the problem and not a solution.

Unions had their benefit during certain oppressive times when the free market failed (yet again) in the name of greed, but now they over protect and oppress the worker AND the company.

No thanks on Unions..

"Alex" notice my comment was to Mik about UNIONS, I didnt click on the link. It is RARE that I click on links, so I have zero clue about what you are discussing here.

The lib/oppressive bating is such a snoozer, I am neither nor do I cater to either. I dislike some tactics used here in the name of debate, etc etc.

DJB... The Big East is truely a pathetic conference this year.  Once again though I have UConn season tickets.  I am thinking about placing a huge bet on UNC for this upcoming weekend.  I would say that the Big East is really Cinci's to lose... other than that maybe WVU despite their massive losses... maybe South Florida?  It truely is up for grabs...

Honestly, I've never cared less about the start of an NFL season. If it weren't for gambling and fantasy fb, i wouldn't even be paying it any attention.  Ncaafb is where it's at, i look forward to Saturdays 10x more than Sundays, nfl is way too commercialized for me and my attention span.  No chance in hell am i betting on Vikes, with no info or insight i like the idea of the Brownies in the dog pound catching more than a FG,,,,with Joey P was still around these parts to give his opinion, but i guess i know where to find him.  Bears and Rams look tempting at first glance, but i dunno, will cross that bridge when i get there.  I've been on a year + lucky as hell run in bases, so i'm gonna stick with my knitting,,,,,,

That UNC game reeks of a < 4' pt win, imo 

what's Uconn's replacement for donnie brown look like? Wasn't that pretty much their entire offense?

ESPN Gameday is my favorite show in TV. Seriously.

I rarely watch TV aside from live sports, and i used to love to watch espn all day, now i avoid that disinformation clearing house like the plague,,,,especially now with fucking Holtzy on all day saturday, all the time.  I'd rather blow a dude than listen to him spit all over hisself talking nonsense.  mlb network and mlb channel with the 8 games on at the same time are normally on my two tvs

Their running game will be jsut as good, no drop off. Toddman is very quick and seems to have great vision. Dixon should rush for 800+ yards at the backup. Their main weakness is the passing game. If Frazer can be more accurate and make the right reads it coudl be different but passing game is which prevents them from being a threat. Their D is always one of the best but their secondary seems down this year.

Holtz isn't on Gameday itself. The interplay between Corso, Fowler, and Herbstreet is awesome.

Reynolds was a huge Twin guy. Used to love him. Waiting for Kruk to jump in front of a bus.

Please stop it    Donald Brown rushed for 2,083 yards and 18 Touchdowns averaging 5.7 a carry.  If Toddman and Dixon rush for 2,083 yards combined I would be shocked.  As far as Frazer goes in his UConn career to date he has thrown 9 Interceotpions and 4 touchdown passes.  His completion percentage is well under 50%.  Last year against UNC he threw 3 INT's 0 TD's.  Week 1 he threw 3 INT's against OHIO... UNC defense 5x as good and fast.  Toddman as of now is all speculation of something good... he is not proven whatsoever.

yea i know, i do watch gameday, with all the kids in the background with the funny signs going nuts, Corso picks the team and uses the mascot,,,,,agree that's one of ESPN's better shows, but i can't convey in words how much i hate hearing Holtz spit into the mic, really turns me off from watching ESPN. And figure that every Sat for the rest of the year there's games on all day on one channel or another from noon till about midnight+.  big surprise here but i'm as contrarian as they come, and don't like getting sucked into the group think ESPN pushes. it works for me

"just as good... no drop off"  Honestly, if you believe that... that is unreal... Let me know when Toddman or Dixon are drafted 1st round in the NFL... better yet let me know when either reaches the NFL... Dixon sure as hell has 0% chance... Toddman has A LOT to prove
