Don't post as much anymore, been a tough year, lost a couple very important people including my mother 2 weeks ago, amazing woman who'll be deeply missed, R.I.P. Mom, I love you!
SF clinched a playoff spot with the Lions loss, that always gets my attention, in general we've seen teams in all sports have letdowns after clinching a playoff spot.
The Colts meanwhile are still in the hunt, of course that doesn't mean they'll win, needing to win and actually winning can be two different stories, I put no stock in "needing to win."
Looking at SF, they have been the recipient of an easy schedule recently, of their last 5 wins, one was against Carolina the other 4 were against Tenn, Clev, Ariz, and the Giants with a combined record of 11 -49, what!?
Meanwhile the Colts have lost 4 in a row, 3 OTR, Seahawks, Jags, Texans, and KC, a bit of a murderers row this season, very close games other than the Jags and after yesterday Jacksonville made a serious statement to the rest of the league, they're for real.
I know Phillip Rivers is like 90 (ok 44) but remember who a QB's best friend is, a great running game and they have perhaps the best back this year, one of my favs' even before this season, Jonathan Taylor. Rivers is savvy enough to know how to manage this game and still adept enough to make the throws he'll be required to make for the Colts to have a chance at winning, and I believe they can and may win. This has been a good football team for much of the year, even with their recent losses and Daniel Jones' injury.
I'm backing the Colts tonight, fading the team that just clinched a playoff spot against a team that's better than the team who's lost 4 tough games in row, at home, on the big stage of MNF.
Colts +6, -125 HRB
As always good luck to all!
