Oakland is going to beat San Diego?

Can someone explain the logic on this one? I've read a lot of posts speculating about this.

Other than SD's history of previous egg-laying in games, there is no reason for this to happen. OAK is the worst team in the league by a mile. They have no offense, and no defense (not the best combination).

I just don't see it. Please explain it to me.

For some, that history is enough.  SD's recent egg-laying vs. the Raiders in particular is probably heavily influencing this perception.  Whether it should or not is debatable.

There is also reason to believe, as others have suggested, that SD is due for some reversion to the mean.  Consider, for example, their +6 turnover margin.  Coming from a team that hasn't finished a season better than +3 in 5 years, it's hard to believe that they will continue to have a + turnover margin in every game.  That seems like a legit argument to me, but I would estimate the value of those turnovers at 4 pts each and conclude that the Raiders will need more help than that just to cover.

No team can sustain such a high level of play, it's not possible, to play at that high level is more the result of receiving a great deal of luck which is not evident to the ave person watching the game.

Raiders could very well be in this game with a chance to win SU at the end... if they can make the plays down the stretch they could win.... they more likely will just fall short..

Because New England and Oakland are the same calibre of team...?

If SD was playing on the road anywhere else, I'd say sure, take a flier on them to lose. But this Oakland team is so horrible. I've watched their games. Carr can't do anything. The defense is so old and slow. They just got a new coach.

I can't see it. SD would have to implode on themselves (which they've done before). But, it would have to be epic. Because even 4 turnovers by SD probably equates to a Chargers win.

I never understood the "their due" mentality of gambling. SD is firing on all cylinders right now. Sporano is a failed head coach that took over a team that has the worst talent in the NFL. The only reason this spread is not 8 or more are the reasons I'm reading above. People just fail to trust SD. Well I say thank you very much and I'll take the line where it is. People thought Vegas was trying to pull a fast one last week with the Jets. How'd that work out for ya? Good road teams beat bad home teams by a lot all the time ....yes, even in the NFL.

OOPS..I meant to say good teams...not necessarily good "road teams"
