My problem is I gave my Under 6 football team the script to follow, and half of them can't even read. Got to start them early.

College Basketball players can and have and I am sure still do shave points but their team is favored by say 18 points. We all know of the NBA official who was fixing games I doubt he is the only one in history.  I wouldn't say it is a fix but it is entertainment and each league is fighting for the entertainment dollars and ratings. NBA, NFL, NHL, MLB are all entertainment groups that want to capture as much as the market as possible. They are also competing against video games, movies, the billion of streaming shows and other activities.  All competing for eyeballs, selling merchandise and streaming service subscriptions.  We can all agree games are much more exciting when the stars shine and these events have drama at the end of each event. Superstars are also part of the big corporations selking goods and services.  The officials can call or not call a foul, pass interference, holding, checking, a ball or a strike to add to the drama and have their entertainment company get the most veiws, coverage on social media. Football is popular because of the violence and the skill same with NHL. Baseball is a slow burner of tension on each pitch, NBA is ALL about Star power and making sure those stars are not impeded by a lesser players defense.  Also, Brands like the Cowboys, Patriots, Steelers, Packers, Red Sox, Cubs Raiders, Lakers, Celtics, Bruins, Blackhawks, Flyers, Maple Leafs etc are Natuonal brands. Then the big markets NYC, LA Chicago, Philly, Boston, Houston, Tampa area, Phoenix bring in more money just on population. It is entertainment and a product that needs a compelling narrative.

 They are compensated for the entertainment venues they choose with generational wealth, fame, other commercial compensation and many would have little opportunity besides a low paying job plus it allows them to enter higher education not based on their academic acumen but because they entertain the student body and the wider population.  In the age of social media the lines are completely blurred between athlete and celebrity.

Lol at this thread. Bottom line, it’s manipulated and it’s easy as hell to see, but very difficult to prove.

How many times do you have to see a mind boggling call from the officials? Why do these horrendous calls happen is every game and even more so in prime time? Why does the NFL rule book allow for such subjective calls? Seriously, how many yellow flags is it gonna take till you begin to question it? 

The NFL is a multi billion dollar business. Where there’s money, there’s corruption. Don’t be so naive.

Guess it's Chic/Old-Tymer's principles...he refuses to buy SCRIPTED...the weekly newsletter given free to the NFL NYC front office staff, the Commish's staff, their regional offices, their Legal Department, the NFL Security Division, the FBI investigative consultants that "protect" the Shield, all the teams' ownership groups, teams' investor groups (including state and municipal investors), League refs, League merchandise manufacturers, etc, etc...oh yeah, and all the Vegas casinos that set the lines.

Once we're let in on the big secret of how that hush-hush secret has been going on for generations, we'll all be as smart as the clever guys on here.

All the pre-teens related to whomever it applies...their classmates and friends that they might let it slip because we all know how kids LOVE to keep secrets...

all the teenagers related to whomever it applies, and all THEIR friends, classmates, team mates, many of whom are looking to buy new cars before they head off to "State" or to a really cool school with tons of hot co-eds...

all the college and post-college kids it applies to who want to pay off their college loans, and buy cool new luxury cars...

all the "grown up" working kids who want to make a bundle because they've seen their dad's or mom's copy of SCRIPTED and they want to retire by the time they're 40...

all the girlfriends of the guys "in the know" who tell them their wives "don't understand them"...

all the boyfriends/cucks of the ladies "in the know" who tell the cucks how they're grossed out every time hubby climbs on top of them after spending a booze-filled night out with the boys...

all the lovers and ex-lovers over all the years who let these "insiders" know that they love jewelry, beach houses, and retirement annuities in return for keeping their mouths shut...
