NFL Fix? Please reply...

Its so preposterous to think professional games are fixed.  Just absolutely retarded.

I think anyone who has been gambling for any length of time knows some of these games are fixed. And, as some of the others have said, hope you are on the side with the fixers. We all heard it was moronic to say the NBA was rigged....until that was proven. This league determines outcomes through its officials, in my opinion.

Theres no need for the games to be fixed,,plus dont u think it would have been exposed by now ,do u realize how many people would have to be involved and keep there mouth shut? as far as your feeble NBA  point,of course there could be a single individual tring to fix a game here and there  ,but thats such a rare and isolated instances,that doesnt have any validity that its wide spread,Plus the fact that we know about these few cases means ,they got caught. Its like the poker player that has a bad beat and calls the game fixed. With so many hands being played with so many games being played weird stuff is gonna happen ,law of averages. There is no fix theres no need for a fix more money is being made by not fixing,The risk would never equal the reward. 

i think vick is shavin points....imo....hes playing the UNDER every game and makin sure he has a TO or 2 at an opprtune time to negate points (my opinion).....

I love the one about the Giants won the superbowl because Peyton got hurt   ,Farve s father dies so its fixed ,the day befpre he was alive and there was no fix but he dies ,everyone starts calling each other at the FIX LEAGUE and decide that Farve is gonna have a carrere day ,no ones gonna miss a catch and the other team is gonna let Farve have his day ,  REALLY??

if there a fixed NFL then all the advertisers and there billions is at riskand involved   all the TV money and the espn big contracts are fixed all these people involved to do what? win a bet?   Why doenst the Pro gambler or the winning player ever talk about fixes? Do u think no one would of spilled the beans to save there own ass at one time or another>

Lets look at the famed Packer Seatlle game a few weeks ago .If it was fixed the strike would of kept going ,it was a perfectscenerio for the fivers to have replacement refs to blame .But what happened the bad call was made  there was a big swing of money and the NFL immediatle settled the strike because they were fearful of people going away from the games I guess the fact that Rodgers never wins on MNF is a fix also. .less people buying the products advertised less people in the stands ,less people betting.Fixing would kill the game and break the owners ,thats why its not a widespread conspicercy, yes one or 2 instances probably occurred after all these years and all the games played in all the sports ,but for it to be anything but a isolated instance makes no sense ,

It's called "HOUSE MONEY"  - that's why they say "the HOUSE ALWAYS WINS" - it is the exact opposite of what the public is betting - if you bet with the house and not with your feelings towards the game - case in point the Jets+9 and the Saints -3.5 on Sunday night - the calls and non calls happened for a reason at the end of the Saints game ( reason being the Saints had covered the -3.5 and there was no way the Refs were going to let the "publics" chargers ruin that

In ncaa there are some obvious point shaving/fixes, but in NFL there are no fixes. However, there are bad refereeing....we here people whinging about in fix because the general public loses their ass when they bet because they don't handicap the situation. When a huge public favorite loses or fails to cover everyone whines because they can't believe that their so called lock lost....but they failed to handicap the situation and placed a bet on an inflated line. Also, most people who bet on these so called locks bet high when they chase...they bet more than what they can afford to lose...they they bitch and whine after they lose.

It's no secret that the NFL is a multi billion dollar business that shares their profits.  That being said......would it be better for the NFL to have Houston start out 6-0, and GB be 2-4, or Hou start out 5-1, and GB be 3-3?  It's a no brainer!  Rodgers and company will not be put in jeopardy to not make the playoffs.  Outright win here.

Even if it were fixed, it's not illegal. The NFL can fix their own games if they wanted to. This all came out in court when a Jets fan sued the Belichek's spygate scandal. All the NFL is required to do for you as a fan is provide a football game...how they do that is up to them.

I tend to think there is manipulation in sports. The NBA and NFL seem to like storylines which can be pushed by ESPN, etc. This story caught my attention on 'Inside The NFL' when the replacement ref discusses that penalties are not suppose to be called during a hail mary and the rule vs the "philosophy" of the rule...interesting. 

The networks after paying out billions for NFL/NBA TV rights want the best possible storyline mixed with what game will produce the highest # of viewers. With the NBA you have that locked up when you consider all the big markets have teams overloaded with talent and superstars. They cant afford to have anymore Spurs/Nets finals. The NFL does have their talent more spread out but seems to really push the storylines. Triumph or tragedy seems to be common theme in the NFL.

My question would be how much of the manipulation comes from gambling or from the top of CBS, FOX, NFL offices? or is it a mix?
