How often does a special teams fumble occur?

The Jags got lucky to recover it as well, in Buffalo territory. 

They get well within FG range. At this point if you can't punch it in on 3 downs, take the fucking FG. Virtually 3 free points. 

Count your blessings instead of getting greedy.
