Portland +8.5 Gift or Trap of the Century vs Jazz?

Utah playing horrible. Couldn't even hold a 15 point lead in the 2nd half against the banged up denver team that was playing 2nd game of the back to back with only 7 player roster! Gobert playing like a weakling....in the last two games, opposing centers have grabbed 42 rebounds against him. Just last week, Whiteside slapped him around for 21 rebounds. Utah only a massive losing streak straight up and against the spread even though they favorite in pretty much all the games. 

Portland +8.5 looks like gift of the century. But i am not pulling the trigger. Everybody probably thinking the same and I am going to pass....if i decide to bet, it will be a late bet on Utah just to be on safe side (bookie's side)

This is exactly like the Denver/Utah game on Wednesday.  My train of thought here is the previous Jazz game will be on everyone's mind, leaving them inclined to grab Portland.  I just don't see Vegas giving out back-to-back gifts with fading Utah.  Either way, this isn't a game that I'd touch.

As of right now, Utah and Minnesota should be faded until they prove otherwise. Portland is 6-2 last 8, and obviously how Lillard is playing. I jumped on +8.5 last night when the line came out, expecting it to move throughout today. Obviously Utah is at home riding a 5 game losing streak and are 4-6 last 10, so maybe its a close one but I think Portland will cover, maybe win outright. +305 ML on Portland is juicy enough to take a bite for me too at least

Don't know how anyone could lay 8.5 points with this Utah squad right now. This is a Blazers or no play situation IMO. 

I am actually surprised that they are catching this many points. Would figure the line would be closer to -4.5

Line does seem a little high, -6 might be easier to digest.  Staying away.  Por on a teaser might work.

Until UTA proves they can play good basketball for 4 whole quarters I will take my chances with a +8.5 head start, Damian Lilard and a Portland team that's playing good lately.

DEFINITELY a "mind f*ck" of a decision thinking of who to back.  Whatever you bet before the game will lose and you'll say afterwards "I knew it!..."

For this game, I'm going to have to go with the gawd, awful Jazz but like SuckmyRick said in post 8, I'll wait before tip off because I'll get a lower spread. So

Utah: wait before tip off because the line "should" go down.

I don't know who will win or lose this game.  Nobody "knows" for certain.  I am getting a hot team with a great player DL playing well lately, verse a slumping UTA team who has to wake up from their funk and win by 9 points or better.  I will take my chances.  Portland has cashed numerous tickets for me as underdogs, going to keep riding them and fade UTA.

The line looks pretty solid to me at -8.5. What's your definition of a trap game?

Its official, i ended up pulling the trigger. 1 unit on Jazz -8.5. don't think line gets better because bookmaker and pinnacle big money are going on jazz and it is probably the right side. Utah bench has been playing awesome and it was the starters screwing around but today i think they come strong after Gobert making that comment after the denver game.

That's a risky pick. Blazers have been hot lately and the Jazz have been the opposite. To me it is Blazers or no play.

I might parlay the Jazz with their moneyline. However i had to hedge my 3 parlays 2 nights ago by taking the nuggets moneyline to break even plus a little change since they were the last leg of my parlay.

i might use the same strategy tonight I honestly can’t trust this jazz team right now.. tho it was jokic who dominated inside and I don’t see a jokic on the blazers squad tonight.

Jazz need to win tonight and Conley/Mitchell need to play better. The coach should considering moving ingles to the bench because he’s been ice cold lately.

Whoa..  Line up to 9.5 now... Looks like it might NOT be going down after all.. We've all seen it before, where a win or a loss is decided by 1 measly point. 

IF wanting to bet Utah and not willing the lay the -10, wait till the half and "hope" that they're down so you can get a better full game line. That's what I am going to do if it doesn't drop drastically (which I doubt it will) AND if they're not getting blown out in the 1st half..

I seem to remember thinking some time ago that this guy is a bookie. He hits at like 25%, almost telegraphing what you should do i.e. fade
