I thought the trade to Toronto triggers a no trade clause now for Tulo.
I aint so sure he is going anywhere. Alex needs to get creative now theres Edwin Jackson out there for free he could help middle relief because god knows Loup is atrocious wow he has caused the Jays to lose atleast a minimum of 10 games alone they can use Cecil in his role he needs to go get a closer now and a starter go all in this year. Scoring runs is not a problem.

Tulo is an average fielder but is the best in the business elsewhere....
Not sure what the hell the Rockies are doing here. I expect the A's  to pull something like this because they are cheap but not the Rox..............

You are calling the guy with the highest career fielding percentage for Shortstops all time average? Since you work in the pharmaceutical biz, it may be time for you to find an adjustment to what you are on now.
Just by making this trade alone, the Rox save 48 million. And if you let the trades play out, you will most likely see Reyes moved. This in total would save almost 80 million over the lifetime of the contracts. Not a dumb move at all by the Rox. If they finish last with Tulo and Cargo, they can certainly do just the same without them. What they do with the upcoming windfall of money is a whole other story, but this is a move in the right direction.

Man I've never seen so many idiotic comments in a thread.

First of all, those claiming the jays need a starter. Of course they do, the trade deadline isn't over. But this trade is as much about defence as it is about offence. Tulo has saved 41 runs over the last 3 years, while Reyes one of the worst defensive shortstops in the MLB had a team leading 13 errors. This is a huge boost to the defence.

Tulo is alos a much better hitter. For those stating the Coors factor...uhmmm have you seen the ball parks in the AL east? The Rogers centre is a as big of a hitters park as there is in the league. Not to mention Yankee stadium, Camden, Fenway. All major hitters parks. Tulo will fit in just fine.

The guy claiming the jays are taking on payroll is an idiot, because they both are making 22 million this year. Yes Tulo has 3 more years of team control, however Buerhle's 19M comes off the books after this year.

A run scored is just as good as a run saved. Toronto improved in both areas with this trade. Get a clue

Now that I think about it. It's a pretty bad deal for the Jays. They gae up a good young arm Castro and got back small upgrade in the ss position. And a 40 year old relief pitcher lol

You guys are all f ucking morons. The trade is an absolute steal for the Jays and last time I checked none of us pay the salary so who cares how much he makes. Jays have the best Offense in baseball by a country mile now and pitching is coming in the next day or two. AA will be extended.

I heard that Reyes makes 9 million this year and then 22 next. Also Jays gave up two pretty good young pitching prospects that no here has mentioned.

just like Donaldson led 3bs in errors last season.  Its so easy to pick apart infield players on their mistakes.  what collabelo in Lf? or Edwin playing 1b? tulo is one year younger than reyes so hes not far from losing his range himself.

why is nobody mentioning jays lost Hoffman/castro?  this deal could end up looking real bad soon.  Hoffman may have been the best of their young pitchers.

just doesn't make sense you add on that tulo contract and now how u gonna add pitchers?

already had by far the best offense as well this wasn't needed maybe there was something behind the scenes with reyes/management.

I also will assume jose bats/ee wont be pleased.  that clubhouse is Dominicans on one side and everyone else on the other.  they let melky go, Navarro doestn get abs and now basically the heart of the team reyes is moved for a lateral move lol.

All the idiots that keep mentioning Jays wll have the best offense in baseball.......who cares? Even with this "best offense", have they been winning?

I'll be glad to face them in the playoffs because they're just another Detroit Tigers 2.0

Reyes was a defensive liability.  Troy is an upgrade in the field plus he hits dont care he is the better player why are people saying its a bad trade. Last year Jose Bautista was mad that Alex did nothing he now goes out makes a good baseball trade and Jose doesnt like it. He is suppose to be a leader thats not a leader. Now if Alex doesnt fix the pitching issue than Jose can be mad but the trade deadline isnt done yet

I can't wait to watch Tulo not even get through an entire year on that turf with his bad hip.  And when a stable of prominent right handed pitchers tear right through that ALL righty lineup for the exception of Smoak.  To really think Tulo makes that much of a difference than Reyes makes you kinda look like a "f**king moron."

And newsflash: that Toronto pitching staff needs a lot more than just one starter to fix that disgusting gaping hole.  There is nothing on the market period that will fix a rotation where Jeff Locke or Charlie Morton could be your ace!!!!  Bullpen sure as hell doesn't help the case either.

Baseball=homegrown talent, speed and pitching in 2015.  Can't buy your way to an AL East crown without it.  That's why in the last four years, the Toronto Blue Jays should be better known as the biggest paper champions in the world.  Toronto fans=delusional in 2015.

Baseball ends, as usual in September north of the border.

calling people idiotic when you don't even know that the runs produced in Colorado are due to the air density/altitude rather than the size as you so ignorantly compared it to the AL east stadiums pretty much excludes you from any position of judgment
