cubs O/U 12 hmmmmmmmmm

in the cubs last 29 home games the under has come 22 times and pushed twice , the pirates come to town with zero POP in their lineup but yet the O/U is 12 with Dempster on the hill I know he isnt the greatest pitcher but a quality starter to throw out there, runs , hits, and errors are at 34, I might be leaning towards that if the score 13 runs then it came from an onslaught of of base hits in my opinion . any  news on the WIND and the HUMIDITY  and TEMP at the frienly confines ?

Very hot and humid today as well....I think it's supposed to get up to 98 here

i am on Under 12.......it seems like a lot of runs no matter which way the wind is blowing...I would love to know some opinions of other Baseball heads on the forum?

When I see a cubs line like that.... I stay FAR away. Far away! So pesky.

Actually wind does matter today my friend...they're saying dew points in the 70's today, which is insanely high humidity.  Also, gust are up to 35mph today...as yes, when the wind is blowing that hard, it will make a difference.

If  illwildcats is right and its 98 and humid with the wind blowing out you have to take over with what the pirates are throwing on the hill cubs might have a feast out there and whenever you see o/u like 6 you take the under when you see lines like 12  with the conditions the man from Chicago just said plus throw the factor that these guys are not really caring too much about these games its more like batting practice or better yet spring training in September with the expanded rosters I'm liking over

What would even be more interesting for this is if they know what it will be like for tomorrow's game. If it's worse tomorrow then it's an under today, if it's better tomorrow then it's an over today.

there are reasons why some lines for games are 6 and 6.5 and there reasons why some games are 11.5 and 12 if anything if you take over you must be already on the right side of it b/c of whatever those reasons are they expect it to be 10,11,12,13,14,runs so would you be suprised it was 12,13,14 runs no, but if it ends 4,5,6,or 7 runs you would say wow they were way off so in my opinion the over is the play but this why its called gambling in my opinion

My info is wrong Boys?  I live downtown and just watched WGN weather not long ago.  Dew point and humidity aren't the same number.  Quote from Tom Skilling, " Not only will we be flirting with a record high, but it will be one of the most humid days of the summer."  You live in Canada bud.  Here you go.'

I just checked on the season stats real quick and when the O/U is more than 11 the under hit 5 out of 6 times this season. 

I don't have any info on the Buco man on the bump today or any umpire info either.  If anyone does please share!

Agreed.  I'm kind of scared to take the over, but my gut is telling me to take it just because of the factors.  Although, statistically it's leaning under.  Bol either way.

not sure where you're getting 35 mph winds...just checked again and it's 9 mph w-sw   definitely high humidity... the lean has to be under 12

if the humidity is high the ball will carry further High humidity actually yields air that is less dense, thus providing less air resistance for a traveling ball and allowing it to go further. This is an interesting and counterintuitive fact due to water vapor being lighter (in mass) than oxygen and nitrogen in air. Taking it back to high school chemistry, density equals mass over volume. The more water vapor that's present in the air, the lighter and less resistant the air is. Check it out.

so if the weather boys are right and the humidity is going to be record highs them it favors the over and many home runs today

Under 34 for the runs+hits+errors. Sounds to me that the wind factor is only good for more home runs. The 34 number is reflecting the o/u total not necessarily how man hits will be in this game. The score could be something like 8-7 but each team could have under 10 hits. Also, it seems to me Pitt scores by manufacturing runs, ie - bunts and steals.

Good example last night Angels vs Mariners- Game was 4-3 with a total of 6 hits for both teams going into the 4th. The angels runs all came off home runs. Game ended 4-3 with 10 hits total.

Over is set too high for any value but the under is too scary to take...UNDER 34 runs+hits+errors is the play in my opinion.
