I questioned in the post about NFL picks yesterday that Covers doesn't care about the forum, so why should I? Flynt and Superbeets responded, and asked what I meant. Here is the short version of why it is so difficult to post at Covers in 2025.
I have been here for close to 30 years. Back in the late 90's, the forum tech was largely the same it is now. Very few updates while watching every other platform move ahead.
* Cant post pictures or videos * Cant post tables or data * Search function is unusable * Many times, type out a long post to hit submit and something goes wrong losing it all * Limit on characters, dont know the limit until you hit submit * No notifications * No audio or video live interaction * No "chat room" functionality
Covers is still analog when the rest of the world is digital. Covers has done nothing to invest in the tech. Covers buries the forum and is hard to find. Covers doesn't care about the forum.
Tell me where I go wrong here?

Yesterday was a disheartening flood of nonsensical garbage nearly impossible to sift through or keep up with.
I participated in the survey a little while back and my one major feedback remains:
A mechanism to verify a member plays their picks and/or wagers a specific amount on said plays. Be it the ability to post photos or a system like twitters blue check.....smarter people can figure that out.
However, until something exists those actually handicapping are being drowned out by those seeking interaction and will eventually withdraw.

Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts and recommendations for improving the forum. We recognize that we haven’t invested as much in the forums as we would like, as we've prioritized other areas to grow the brand into what it is today. However, we take pride in the community we’ve built here, and we appreciate valuable contributors like you and many others, who truly set us apart from other betting forums and social media platforms.
We want to assure you that we have not lost interest in the forum. We have shared your comments with our forum product team. If you're interested, we’d be happy to have you collaborate with our UX Researcher and Product Manager to create a list of great features to enhance the forum.

I want to take time to process this response... But at first thought - it sounds like AI or you are a customer service manager at a call center.
Sorry, let me think about it. But this doesnt address the obvious issues of the forum that everyone knows exist, and why Covers doesnt do anything to keep the forum going with the times. It is obvious. I dont need to say it for it to be true. And there isnt a "UX Researcher" or "Product Manager" who doesnt know that this is a conscious decision by covers to not invest in the forum. There is nothing I could tell them that they dont already know.

Yup, spot on here. All those bullet lines should hit home. Even getting new emojis was a big deal, which is should not have been and now it's the same ol same ol.
Not much different than wagerline was and I too was part of that site and was here during the transition to COVERS.
Not too mention the countless features and upgrades that numerous posters post negatively about. Also, many have complained about not getting there winnings from contests. Yes, they eventually get what's coming to them, but it seems sometimes only after countless attempts to reconcile.
Maple syrup drips slowly, but even molasses has a tipping point.
COVERS allows u to tell someone they are sexually frustrated so long as ur hands are clean

Taking away dms was what did it for me. Even if you were going to do that, the NO NOTICE part of it really cheesed me off. Had plenty of people I talked to during football season. All gone. A lot of them have moved on and asking them for their personal contact info on the forums isn't really an option.
Covers is basically a website where a select few have useful knowledge and valuable input amongst a sea of quite frankly slop of people just gabbing or posting picks with zero logic.

You guys are the craigslist of betting.
This is a great post. First, about DMs.
But saying Covers is the Craigslist of betting sums it up in a sentence better than anyone could. Greatest example possible.

Flynt is definitely a real person. He’s off today, that’s why I’m responding to you instead.
Our Product Manager really appreciates the chance to meet with someone like you who’s been around for a while. A face-to-face (virtual) meeting would be much more helpful as it’ll offer a chance to dig into your ideas more and ask follow-up questions.
Feel free to take as much time as you’d like. You can reach out here or message us directly at marketing@covers.com. We look forward to hearing from you.

You all have very valid points.. they do need to upgrade or will get left behind!! I will say in their defense though they do pay.. maybe a little slow and with some prodding but I can attest with back to back wins on the monthly for streak survivor (May June 2025) they have answered my questions.. but once again you guys are correct they need to upgrade and we all know that’s gonna cost some coin!!

Losing the DM feature was a big deal for some. The question is, what was happening in those DM's that possibly the site did not want happening. We'll never know
Losing view counts as a result isn't a bad thought though

You are sadly correct on all accounts. Aint too many members here before us....You forgot to mention things took a turn for the worst when it was decided cursing wasn't allowed (I dont care, but for a gambling forum its asinine).....and the biggest gaffe was Lou's Hot Tub ending. What a crock of sh!t
This site should have 10 million members with the boom of sports betting being legalized and fantasy football going nuts. Obviously this website/app is not user friendly and way out of date. Its almost like I can hear the dial up sound when I log in.....
Only thing I would add to Van's list is a way to block people.....that would allow members to self police the forum without a need for mods to be on the ball 24/7.....eliminate the trolls would go a long would to member satisfaction.
Its just a gambling forum for recreational purposes, I get it. But why not attempt to improve the experience?

I think getting rid of the feature where we can become friends with members was a nice thing.
Too bad it's gone.
Also, several times pre pandemic I suggested to the Covers Management to do a get together in Vegas or Vegas, AC, wherever for members to meet, engage other members.
I'm a Talent Agent and an event producer..getvit sponsored, throw some cash at it, make it a thank you for old timers.
