Although I like the Police as my fav 80's band, the one song that always sticks out in my mind is "She Blinded Me With Science" by Thomas Dolby.

Whenever I hear that song, I remember everything about the time I first heard it while in the Army. The memories of those times are so vivid. Takes me back completely like a mental time machine.
Talk about science. Ha,ha,ha.
The other thing that stick out in my mind is how much fun things were back then without the internet, cell-phones, emails, faxes and other scientific and technological breakthroughs available to the general public yet..
I saw a phone booth the other day... not just a pay phone... but a real honest to God entire phone booth in the open, inside the gates of a county owned recycle center. I guess it's safe there since they are always there and the place is secure at night. I stopped and stared at it for a minute while waiting to cash in a years worth of saved beer cans. I was amazed to see an actual phone booth outdoors and in working condition.
Maybe I'm a little old fashioned but It seemed like a better time. Collecting music on cassette tapes was my hobby. I still have em all along with my vinyl LP's and 45's. Don't have the boombox anymore though. Shit, I'm getting old...or maybe I should just admit that I already am old.

Cue the Beatles song... "Help!"

...with an encore of "Yesterday."

I know these are not 80's but they are timeless and aprapo and like General Patton, I am somewhat of an anachronism.
To submit an 80's song that describle what these Beatles songs do, I'd have to say that I am not aware of one that clearly comes to mind for me.
