In boxing, when one fighter wins the first

bout and the other wins the second, they always fight a third to prove who the better fighter is.  So thats fine, Bama can play but if they win than they have to play them again to win the National Championship.

why is Bama clearly the #2 team?

Giving Bama another shot because they already lost at home is insane..

Compare resumes.. OSU v Bama..  go ahead.. I'll wait..

its not even close.. same record, OSU has better SOS, more top 25 wins, more top 50 wins, more wins vs teams with winning record, won its conference..

Bama beat 1 ranked SEC team all yr.. ONE!  no shit they look awesome- their schedule is filled with crap ass teams posing as decent SEC teams..

Not a Bama fan at all, Id rather see a more explosive NC game BUT..

Bama wouldn't lose to Iowa St.
Losing to Iowa St or losing as a 4 TD favorite no matter how you put it is

Not a Bama fan at all, Id rather see a more explosive NC game BUT..

Bama wouldn't lose to Iowa St.
Losing to Iowa St or losing as a 4 TD favorite no matter how you put it is

that's fair.. however 2 pts..

1- Iowa St is ranked in the top 30 with a SOS of 8 in most polls

2- are you looking at that one game? or what a team did all year long..

Yes, ISU lost was bad, but taht was also on short week and 1 day after plane crash killing OSU womens bball coaches..

if you look at just losses, Bama deserves to go.. if you're looking at overall resume, hard to dispute Okie State has a much better overall resume

Let's really take a look at this whole SOS thing that you put so much stock into.... Iowa st, who has an SOS ranking of 6 has played some amazing teams, and had a tough schedule. Iowa St is kind of like a Vandy in our conference... A team you just don't lose to... Iowa st, and Vandy both played Uconn, and they both won in about the same margin. You claim that Ok st's loss to Iowa st is legit, because of their SOS. Well look at the teams they played... A lot of big name teams, yes... But what happened in those games? They got dominated. So what good is having this SOS ranking, if you are just gonna lose every game. Vandy has a SOS ranking of 32, and a 6-6 record, but does that make Iowa st a better team than them? Obviously not, and they got dominated by Bama 34-0. I am sure if you look hard enough, you can see that the same goes for most of these so called high up SOS ranked teams that Ok st. has played.

Okie State, Oklahoma, Oregon, Stanford and Boise all had an opportinity, and guess what? they blew it big time, by losing to scrubs....

what about bama, they scored 6 pts at home to the #1 team and lost, not 1 td the entire game, including overtime...even kentucky and western kentucky scored more pts against lsu..

bottom line is u have to look at other stats besides okie st losing as a huge favorite because when u look closer they have every right (if they beat the sooners) to be the #2 team and play in the title game

What a dumbass... When two defensive, evenly matched teams go into a hyped up game like that, especially in the SEC, it's always going to be a low scoring affair. Its called Defense, you should check it out sometime...

The BCS love it or hate it has done a pretty good job for the most part of pairing the best two teams... even the people on this forum, who is lobbying for Ok State has admitted that they believe LSU and Bama are the two best teams... isn't that what its all about? As far as the people arguing that Bama shouldn't go because they didn't win their conference championship... there is nothing that says you have to... and for a good reason.... who says that the best two teams in America can't be in the same division of the same conference... they damn sure are this year... In my opinion none of this will matter anyway on Monday, once the Sooners win on Saturday... If Bama had lost to Vandy.. do you think they would be up for discussion for a shot at the Championship? of course not... so it is extremely silly that anyone thinks the Cowboys should be.

I also don't see why everyone thinks Ok st deserves all this credit, IF they beat Oklahoma. I was saying that if they beat them considerably that they should have a shot, but now I realize that Oklahoma is just as big of a joke when compared to Bama/Lsu as Ok st is. Oklahoma lost to Texas Tech, LMFAO! HAHAHAH!

did LSU score a TD ??? vs Bama

Trust me , I would love to see Ok. St in the Champ game , having $100 at 33-1 on them

They just don't deserve to be there .....

Sorry I just can't get past the Loss as a HUGE 4 TD Favorite ....

As I have said, and as everyone else has said, the National Championship is about the two best teams in the nation playing against each other. Bama and LSU are the two best teams, obviously, so they should play. Who cares who lost where, and when, it was obvious in that game that Bama is the only team that can compete against LSU.

2006 Ohio St vs Michigan.  #1 vs #2.  Game of the Year!!  Ohio State wins 42-39.  Michigan does not get to replay Ohio State for the National Championship.

Sorry Bama, you had the opportunity and you lost!

Bama fans should be the biggest advocates for a playoff cause that is the ONLY way they should get a second chance!

Ohio State went into that NCG as a 14 point favorite and had to wait 51 days to play the game.  If those teams were overrated you were just about the only one who thought so.

That's beside the point.  The point is you don't get rewarded after losing!  If any team deserved a second chance, that was probably the year.  They didn't and they still don't.

Surely that Hate has cost me since then ,,,, I have tried to wise up ....

Pretty hypocritical point of view. Exact same scenario, yet different decisions. It didn't apply in 2006 but it does in 2011.

Respect your opinion but definitely agree to disagree
