Um Boise has tried to play a tougher schedule and its the other teams that dont want to.
Can't speak for other conferences, but there is not one single shred of eveidence that Boise has ever contacted a single SEC school about setting up a road or neutral site game . . . none. In fact several SEC ADs debunked this story after it came out saying they have never been contacted by Boise AD Gene Bleymaier. When called to the carpet about his allegations, Bleymaier was no where to be found.

Is this the scheduling of a champion?
WIll the AD of Auburn please come to the podium and deny (under oath preferrably--threat of perjury is ALWAYS a better motivating factor) that several PAC10 schools (USC included) tried but failed to entice Auburn into a home and away agreement?

LOL sure they will... UNDER THEIR OWN TERMS. Come on you are smarter than to believe another schools proganda aren't you? What do you think Boise is going to say... ahh we will play anyone, anytime, anywhere as long as that is anyone WE PICK, anytime WHEN WE DESIGNATE IT and anywhere AT HOME ON THE BLUE TURF. Only Fresno State under Pat Hill can truely say that they will play anyone, anytime anywhere as he has proven it over the years. There is too much money at stake to not make calculated risks and Boise State does the same thing. Basically what they are doing is trying to bait bigger competition to come to their home.
No large school with a big stadium will ever play at Boise because it would be a financial catastrophy for them to do so. A team with a stadium capacity of 80,000 is not going to play at a 30,000 seat stadium. They only way a big school would agree to such thing would be if Boise would make up the revenue shortfall (plus probably a little more), which of course Boise can't afford to do.
In all fairness, however, in the Yahoo article Bleymaier was offering to play on the road or a neutral site. He didn't say anything about wanting a big school to travel to Boise, although I know one SEC school said a deal with Boise could not be reached because they insisted on a home and home.
In the end, the Yahoo article as it relates to the SEC was proven to be pure bluster on the part of Bleymaier.

Auburn AD Jay Jacobs has nothing to answer for in this regard. First of all he plays in the SEC which guarantees that Auburn will have to play 4 road games against SEC opponents every year. Secondly, Jacobs didn't lie to the media about how everyone was scared to play them, so your argument is entirely specious.

That's the reality...........while an ooc game vs Boise at home would be a great draw for most teams anywhere (compared to most scheduled ooc games), the return trip to Boise just isnt lucrative.........it would be a matter of losing money........& the risk of losing the game. Just not a smart move.
But a game at a neutral site..........say Seahawks Stadium........would be interesting & likely profitable. But you're not ever going to see that.......

That's the problem. It's all about money. No one and i mean NO ONE on the inside in college football gives a shit about which teams are good. All they care about is money. It's not financially prudent for them to play Boise. You know what would fix this? Howbout a playoff like, I dunno, EVERY OTHER SPORT. 99% of college football debates could be solved by a playoff. It really is sickening.

gotta tip your hats to Va Tech for manning up and taking on Boise on a neutral site... hopefully the fact that they lost won't discourage them or other teams from doing it in the future...
TCU should run roughshod through the Big East, but there are a couple problems: 1) they will have to reload over the next couple years, since they lose Dalton and other upperclassmen... 2) recruiting in the Big East will be tough, since they will be competing with East Coast schools, and have to convince them to play what will amount to a tough road schedule, travelling frequently to the East Coast for games...
most big time schools (Auburn was a perfect example this year) don't travel more than a couple hundred miles the entire year... so that kind of travelling for college kids can be a tough sell... still, they are head and shoulders above any team in the Big East right now, and have a coach who can rebuild with lesser talent...

Stanford's shot was at Oregon based on the calendar and not other factors. TCU did not even get a shot.
None of these teams deserve a piece of the title because they did not play the schedule Oregon or Auburn did and go underdefeated but, they both should have had fair shakes to go out and win it.
As for Bama, Wisky, OSU, Oklahoma, UConn, etc they did not do enough to earn a shot.

oh Please!!! look at couple of year ago, when Undefeated Utah over Alabama, Undefeated Boise State over Oklahoma, Undefeated TCU over Wisconsin. These are my national champs. Forget the overrated football mills.
BCS need a fucking playoff systems!
Alabama lost to Utah because they didn't want to be there after losing SEC championship game. Boise beat Oklahoma fair and square, although Stoops has choked away games before and after that one. TCU beat everybody they played, including a good Wisconsin team.
There should be a playoff, but TCU did the right thing by joining a BCS conference. If they get it, then you guys need to get it. You can bang your head against the wall because you are pissed that it is raining, or you can use an umbrella.

The Mountain West and Big West should've purged and merged with UNLV, SDSU, BYU, Hawaii, Nevada, Boise, TCU, Utah, etc starting their own power conference. Didn't happen but, there is enough stuff in those two conferences to kick the other majors around a little bit and treat the Big East like a bitch in football.

The power conferences are pussies....they don't even want to play the others in a bowl game. TCU and Boise had to play back to back years and Utah had to play Boise this year. The Big Ten, SEC, and Pac 10 don't like the idea of having a non power conference team knock the piss out of them because it hurts the image of not allowing TCU or Boise in the title games.
Boise beat the ACC champ this year and TCU beat the Big Ten champ. I'm sure if they played the Pac 10 or SEC champ the game would be a lot more competitive than most from the power conferences would want to admit and I live in Big 10 land.

The 'problem' is the Big 6 conferences all have bowl agreements to guarantee certain teams in certain games based on conference finish.
Boise had to play Utah because the WAC and the MWC can place the teams where they want. The big conferences don't get that option and it is strictly a business decision. They have guaranteed payouts based on those contracts.
It is unfortunate that that ends up putting Boise against a team the rest of the nation would rather not see them play, but it isn't really an option unless they get in a BCS game where the bowl committee has more options to choose & even those are limited.

TCU pretty much out-recruits everyone in the Big East already. From a recruiting standpoint, they are not going to be competing against anyone in the Big East. They'll continue to recruit the talent-rich state of Texas like they always have. They don't have to change a thing. Making the move to a BCS conference will only serve to improve their already outstanding recruiting.

been saying the same thing for awhile now... i don't get why they didn't do this... a conference with Boise, TCU, Utah, BYU, Hawaii, SD St, Nevada and UNLV will immediately be more impressive than the Big East, by a long way... BCS would have to make them an AQ conference...
Jimmy... don't think i was clear on my point... TCU will still be recruiting largely within the state of Texas (since that is a huge talent pool)... but they now have the liability of trying to convince players within the state of Texas to play for a team that spends half the year playing out on the East coast... this is no small problem for college kids, especially when there are other Texas schools that do not have this issue... even losing just a handful of recruits every year would be a big blow...

They could also tell them that they have a tremendous shot at a BCS bowl game year in and year out which I assume would be very enticing to recruits.

Also most of these current road trips for TCU are flights anyways and so my guess is that the traveling issue for 5 or 6 games a year is not going to be too big a deal.

Stanford would destroy TCU and may beat Oregon if they played again...........if they contained Tyrod and could do the same to Cam then well think the shootout earlier in the year was the true elimination game.............
Oregon is the next National Chapion....and Stanford should be number 2

not shocking that TCU still somehow manages to get no respect, even from all the people who said Wisconsin would win by 20+ points... TCU controlled that game in every way... they out-played Wisconsin in all 3 phases of football, and Wisconsin was hanging by a thread the entire game...
i suspect Oregon will also get no respect when they beat Auburn... just the way it goes in CFB... until a playoff system is put in place, people will continue to make too much of some games, and not enough of others, depending on where their allegiance lies...
