Illinois is down to 9.5 now...going to keep my eye on it to see if it goes back up a little before locking it in.

 

I don't know if I can bet VT lol especially against Virginia, might have to lay off that one.

Just woke up. Made 2 plays real late last night.
1* KST-WV under 134
1* VT-UVA under 122

I see now these 2 have dropped some. I'm sure someone will ask so this is my answer. I would still play both games Under or pass. If you wait until close to game time both might go back up. The general public was not driving those numbers down during the night. They were asleep like most normal people.

If I were you I would continue to wait unless you see it moving up. Wish I'd waited now. Sometimes you guess right and sometimes you don't when making early plays. I thought it might go above 8 and I didn't want to lose that number. If it gets any lower I might increase.(I did guess right on those above totals though, 2 out of 3 ain't bad)

I don't care if Wade doesn't play a minute I'm not coming off the Wildcats. Think WV does not get above50-55 points tonight. KSt is still going to play tenacious defense imo. Believe the Cats fight like helk to hold their half game lead in the Big 12. They have Okie Light next and believe they can win both with or without Wade.

My view is WV is a totally disfunctional team at the present until proven otherwise. Huggins started Emmit Matthews for the first time against Kansas hoping to get better defense on the perimeter, it didn't work out. Lamont West got moved to power forward with the loss of Ahmad and Harris. West is a little bit thin to be inside banging with the big boyz. He's always played small forward since he got there.
They asked Huggins about playing without Ahmad and Harris and he said "we miss their rebounding. If you look at our games they got a lot of big rebounds for us."
Huggs also played 6'10" Gordon with Culver to play bigger. That made them worse.

Have held 13 teams to 55 points or less
#4 in field goal % defense 37.6%
#2 in 3-point field goal % defense 26.7%
#2 in 1st half scoring difference +11.6, +8.2 on the road
7-1 on the road, only loss by 2 at the legendary Cameron Indoor Arena
One of the best 3-point shooting teams at 40%
Only losses to high powered Duke

Cavaliers have a truly elite defense and they have a real shot at the Natty because they can also score the ball this year.
Cavs shooters torched the Hokies in the first half of their first meeting. Blowing VT right out the doors of John Paul Jones Arena about half way down I-85 around Lexington, VA.  81-59

I can certainly understand why gamblers don't want to get in front of this bunch. 

VT doesn't even have enough healthy players to scrimmage 5 on 5.
This is the thin Hokies 3rd game in 6 days 
Justin Robinson, a record setting multi-year starter at point guard remains sidelined and will not play in this game.
Clarke and Nollie remain out due to a suspension and an eligibility issue.
The few VT reserves on the bench have been weaker than well water.

It does look bleak for the Hokies I must admit.

I DON'T expect anyone to follow me on this play and I understand anyone's reluctance to back the Hokies tonight. They are all probably intelligent and well adjusted sane people.

I've acknowledged the Cavs are an elite team this year. They are a well balanced and well drilled team that does everything well. Bennett is a really sharp coach.They truly look like a Final 4 team with a decent shot at the Championship.
Even the great Ken Pomeroy thinks so. #2 team, #5 offense, #3 defense. 

I've also pointed out the Hokies are a thin team as far as depth goes and now playing their 6th game without their floor leader Robinson who was a great defender and scorer who could really shoot it from deep. Every team feels a loss of that magnitude and has to adjust. That takes some time for players to acclimate to their new roles.

I just wanted everyone to know I'm aware of the situation at stake tonight.

The main reason I played VPI is because it is a situational spot that has been good to me. No different than continuing to fade the Mountaineers or playing Duke, Nevada, Zaga and under, or playing against the Cal Gummy Bears and the Xavier Mousekateers on a regular basis.

Buzz Williams, and the Hokies in revenge spots has been golden. 
VT is 13-7 su and 15-5 ats their last 20 games at Cassell Coliseum in revenge mode.
VT is 8-1 ats at home vs the Cavs in revenge. 
VT is 11-2 su and 13-0 ats as a HOME REVENGE DOG
VT is 12-1 su this year at home. Losing to a good Louavul team after Robinson had went down.
Last 3 years these two have split the series.

These are just trends, history. Players have moved on that were part of these. But the trends do point out a pattern of behavior. They show Buzz Williams is not only a good coach but a great motivator. It's still my belief the fundamental matchups on the floor will decide the game. 

The Hokies are still #12KP, #9 offense, #32 defense. They've held 11 teams to 60 points or less only giving up 61.1 ppg. 
Offensively, they shoot at 49%, 42% from 3. Granted Robinson was a factor in accumulating these lofty stats. But the Hokies still remain a capable and dangerous team. 

What do the Hokies have to do to win here tonight? Well, they have to do everything better than they have so far since Robinson departed.
Blackshear has to have a big game. Everything goes thru him. He's their best defender, scorer, passer, and playmaker. If he gets in foul trouble I'm in trouble here and so are the Hokies.
Alexander-Walker is also key on the ball tonight at point guard. Him and Bede have to step up and play well tonight. They've been improving over the last 5 games adjusting to their new roles on the team. All 5 starters-Blackshear, Alexander-Walker, Bede, Outlaw, and Hill will have to be iron men tonight and play about the whole 40 minutes.

Make no mistake this is a heated rivalry. The 81 points the Cavs dropped on VT in JPJ was the most since 2006. Believe me the bitterness of that has lingered in the Hokies. They come out fighting tonight. Is it enough that the shorthanded Hokies take down the hated Cavs? I can't say that's a defenite. I can't even say it's a high probability. Just a gamblers instinct, a hunch, a feeling I have with some historical evidence to support it and a game bunch of Hokies playing for pride tonight, as well as a boost in their Madness status. 


Maybe it's just indigestion. 

If Robinson was playing I'd be going in Large in this spot tonight. He's not. So just a small play for me. I'm willing to pay to see if the Cavs can sweep them. UVA has some real advantages here tonight. 
I love games like this. I'm sure all you real Hoops junkies do.

The only people playing on the Hokies tonight are Pyrats,degenerates, drunks, questionably shady people that think they're sharp and the even shadier PEOPLE HOLDING ALL THAT ACTION TONIGHT.

VT under last 4 games as a home dog
VT under last 4 home games as a dog less than 7
There are several other trends I don't have time to list

Both teams have top shelf defenses.

UVA and VT both play to among the slowest tempos in the game.
