Carter Hayley / Stefani Luisa is playing really good, I played against them against Hsieh Su-Wei / Strycova Barbora in Rome, had them to lose 2-0, witch they did Hsieh Su-Wei / Strycova Barbora won all games in Rome 2-0.

BUT... after I placed the but I notice that Carter Hayley / Stefani Luisa had won at least 1 set in 35 of their 37 games together (!!!!!) which is CRAZY.

So I was a bit worried but they Hsieh and Strycova went 5-0 up in the first set.... ok no worries here! but then Carter Hayley / Stefani Luisa won 5 straight games to 5-5 (!!) against the best double pair in the world. They lost the first set 7-5 but in the second they where up 0-40 and had 4 breakballs at 4-4 and if they had break the would be serving for the second set.

But Hsieh and Strycova manage to hold and then break so they won the second set as well 6-4, this was Carter Hayley / Stefani first lose on clay.

They are 8-1.

Stephens Sloane A. - Teichmann Jil Belen have never played together they only play this match because they have to play doubles. Sloane is already out of the singles and want to go to Paris asap to she can practice at Roland Garros.

Sloane is ranked 1157 in doubles is 25/44 and on clay 3/10 since 2009.

Teichmann is ranked 287 and have played some doubles 81/49 and 50/28 on Clay but most of her wins was early in her career now she only focus on her single game.

She hasen't played any double on clay this year and last year she was 1/4 on clay.

Teichmann also playing Svitolina E in QF here and is not going to risk anything in this game.

Easy 2-0 win here, wouldn't be surprised Sloane already is in Paris and they leave a walkover here.

When Carter Hayley / Stefani Luisa is a 1.10 - 1.40 odds favourite to win they have won 8 of 9 matchen 2-0 in set.

The only time the dropped a set was the last game here in Strasbourg the had a 4-1 lead but lost in tiebreak. They won't make the same mistake here, they will start strong.

This odds will drop, won't be surprise if Lajovic is the favourite tomorrow before the matchs stars, so getting this early.

Lajovic is 3-0 H2H against Khachanov.

Khachanov has a big serve but it's not very effective on clay, he should have lost the game against Struff who throw the 3rd set away when he was up a double break.

Lajovic has started this clay season alright, winning over Raonic and played alright against nadal winning 40% of the points and broke Nadal twice in that game in Rome.

Okey so they have played each other 3 times already two on clay 2016 and 2018 and most recently this year on hardcourt. Lajovic have won all these matchen 2-0.

Lajovic is a clay player and Khachonov a hardcourt player, and Lajovic won even on hard this year...

Lajovic is 321(!) - 201 on Clay and Khachonov is 69-49.

Lajovic has improved a lot since they last play on clay, I would say that 2019 was his best year. He won his first ATP title in UMUG (clay) and lost the finale in Monte Carlo the same year, beating Medvdev 2-0, Theim 2-0 (!) and Goffin 2-0 just to lose the final against Fognini.

This year he already beat Raonic and Davidovich Fokina A. (Great form and really good on clay)

The last two years 2018 and 2019 he took Zverev to distance losing both years against him in the 5th set in the French Open, he has a great defensive and has quite easy against big serve players like Khachonov on clay, with wins over Raonic, Theim, Rublev, Goffin, Del Porto, Isner and Coric.

The value is on Lajovic here, he is already 100% against Khachonov so it's a no brainer for me to get over 2 in odds.

POD #3 - Mladenovic Kristina | 2.1 | Round 1 French open 27-28 Sep

We all remember Mladenovic meltdown in US Open in her last game where she won the first set 6-1 and was up 5-1 with 4 matchbolls against Gracheva and somehow lost the second set in Tiebreak and the 3rd 6-0. It's was really shocking to see.

On top of that she had to isolate herself from everybody else because she had played card with Benoit Paire who had tested positive for covid. So she was really angry with US Open and said that she felt like a prisoner even though she was never tested positiv herself.

After the game she also got the news that they had kicked her out of the doubles, which she was favorit to win, because of the risk of Covid. 

So a really bad week for her, and she most have been happy to return home to France, she hasen't played any matches since her meltdown but I think she is really hungry for some payback.

She have always played well in French Open, she has to titels here in doubles 2019 and 2016.

Mladenovic have only played one game on clay this year 0-1, she has som really good results on clay as single as well. 2019 11-4 with a QF in Rome, beating Barty 2-0, Bencic B., Garcia C. , Anisimova A and QF in Istanbul beating Yastremska D. just to lose to Martic in TB in the 3rd set.

She is now playing Siegemund, she is 1-2 H2H and all matches have been close, she won the last time they played 2019 on Clay 2-0. The match before that was the final in Stuttgard 2017 where Siegemund won the last set in Tiebreak at home in Germany. That is her biggest title she ever won.

Siegemund has over 400 wins on clay but she is now 32 and her best days are gone. She is 13-4 on clay this year, but most games have been in the German Pro series against 300-500 ranked players.

She hasen't had any good results here in French Open

So we have two veterans against each other here in the first round, both players are born 34 years old and they both started to play on the tour 2002 so they have been around.

But they are miles apart, Strycova ranked 37 single and ranked as number 1 in double, Lepchenko is ranked 183 her best ranking was 19 in 2012 (8 years ago)

Lephecnko plays on the ITF tour at the moment and I think she is now playing more for fun and seeing the end of her career, she playing tournaments against players she know she can beat with out much preparation.

She had to qualify to get to the first round  and won quite easy all games, but was never really tested. Her goal here was to advance to the first round to get the €60.000 prize money for it, she has now done that and she is probably very happy and have done what she came to do.

Last year she had to qualify also, in the first round she lost 6-1, 6-1 as a 1.50 favourite.

Strycova on the other hand playing some of her best tennis at 34, ranked nr 1 in the world in double, she just won the double Rome without losing a set, in single she has already beaten Vondrousova M, Pliskova K, Kudermetova V, Anisimova A and Konta J. this year.

She will of course focus more on the double here, where she is the favourite to win, but the double doesn't start until later this week, so she can focus on the single in these early rounds. I also think because it has been so few tournaments this year, she might be more motivated to make up for some of the prize money she have missed.

I think she will go to the 3rd round, where she will lose against Serena after she can focus on the double.

So my bet will be Strycova to win, not the best odds, but compared to some of the other favourites I think it's a gift. I think she will win easy in two sets
