i have one in my bedroom, and a samsung plasma in the living room. 2 days ago, i turn on the DLP and there is a white dot in the center of the screen, very small. yesterday, i turn it on, there are 4 more white dots scattered randomly on the screen. i have had it just over 2 years and never had a problem, in fact its been great, i love the picture even more than the plasma. so i do a little research and find out that hundreds if not thousands of people have begun to have the same problem with their samsung DLP's. white dots start to pop up and spread rapidly until there are hundreds of them on the screen. this is all occuring after roughly 2 years of use. warranties are of course expired and samsung is refusing to do anything about this. im fully ecpecting to get home today and see more dots scattered across the screen. needless to say im pissed and very disappointed in Samsung

Not much you can do except call them and see where the closest repair center is.
ive called them and samsung refuses to acknowledge the problem. there is a chip that needs to be replaced which runs about $300. i will probably end up just buying a new tv. i just cant tell ya how frustrated i am with this. i knew when i bought it i should have gone with the plasma or lcd.

about 2 weeks ago, i got a letter from samsung saying that they are now taking responsibility and fixing the problem on their dime. this morning, a repair guy shows up at my house, replaces the DLP chip and now the screen looks good as new. i didnt have to pay a dime. my screen had at least 500 white dots on it before. i wish samsung would have acted sooner on this, but i still have to give them their due for fixing the problem. my warranty had been expired for over a year so they didnt have to do anything, so my faith in Samsung is restored

That is good to hear. I've grown to respect Samsung products as i have friends who bought DLP's several years ago & the units have been solid for them.
