What, in your guys' oppinion, did GWB fail at?
 
Where specifically do you guys think he failed when he was president?

Iraq, spending, big government, compassionate conservative, immigration reform

I think the answer to this depends on which group of the republicans respond.
 
The fiscallly conservative Buchanan wing would criticize his Iraq policy. I think the foreign policy hawks would criticize his spending.
 
I never thought Bush was as bad as made out to be. He presided over a very tough time. Not easy to watch 2700 Americans die on an attack on our soil and not have an "itchy trigger finger" in protecting the country. Tough position.

News flash: Bush has been out of office for 2/3 of a year. A more relevant question is: Where and why is obama flailing er failing?

Disco - I won't speak for anyone else but me.  I thought Bush did a pretty good job overall. 
 
Foreign Policy - Over all Good Job. 
  +  Prevented another 9/11 type attack. 
  +  Ignored North Korea.  ( Thanks Clinton and Albright)
   -  Didn't get Bin Laden or crush the taliban and Al Qaeda. 
   -  Didn't secure Iraq better before leaving office.
 
Spending - Poor Job.
  +  Tax policies were good, economy grew for most of the 8 years he was in office. 
   -  Didn't lower taxes enough or make cuts permanent.
   -  Didn't control spending during good economic expansion.
   -  Tried but failed to privatize retirement and phase out Soc Sec.
   -  Didn't eliminate govt. waste
 
Education -   Average
   +  reached across aisle to Ted Kennedy to pass No Child left behind
   -  Failed to get school vouchers passed as part of the bill (personally Education should be a State issue with no Fed govt involvement)
 
Overall - He was a good President.  Biggest disappointment was his failues in cutting size and spending in govt.

News flash: Bush has been out of office for 2/3 of a year. A more relevant question is: Where and why is obama flailing er failing?
 
that's like asking a new head coach WHY he hasn't turned the team around yet after years of loosing. the country was doomed to massive deficites from the Bush tax cuts even without the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. that plus a "regulations? we don't need no stinking regulations" attitude which lead to the crash. people talk about Obama's spending? you can double what the Bush defecits REALLY where because they kept the wars "off the books". also Bush passed the most ridiculously expensive healthcare bill in decades with Medicare part D where there is NO negotiation on price with the drug companies. before the Bush administration I have never HEARD of the government not negotiating on price BUT it happend not only with part D but with every contractor for Iraq and Afghanistan.
 
with the hole that Bush put in the side of the Ship of State we will be lucky IF Obama can just do enough DC to keep us afloat.

First of all he was a horrible communicator. Secondly, his spending was ridiculous. $64B over the 8 years for AIDS in Africa just one of many examples of insane spending for a conservative. Like we have that to spend on a preventable disease in another country. Faulty intelligence over Iraq (was that his fault, I guess). Private contractors making a fortune off of the wars. Nearly 7 years and not able to get Bin Laden, when I believe if he owed the IRS $11, he would of been found. Should've closed the border after 911 immediately. The party for illegals should've been over.

Bush #1 = No Bueno! Corrupt, money hungry, loves special interests.
 
Clinton =  BJ's in the white house! Bold but stupid! Friends with the Bush family and all his friends.
 
Bush #2 =  The closest thing that America will have ever come to having "Forest Gump" as president. Friends with all of the above (don't let appearances fool you!) and all their friends.
 
Obama = This guy is the most arrogant socialist I have ever seen. I'm sure that the Clinton's, Bush's, and Obama get together, get drunk and brag about what they have done and still plan on doing to the American people (GW drinks "Odoul's" though)
