Actually, last time we were at Costco, she was looking, and there was a ring very similar to that, in platinum, with the diamond wedding band, just a box hair under 1c, and that bitch was only $4500... She was very impressed with that one...

I would be happy with 4k... Have up to 6k if I must... but will be just as happy buying something for 2k that is what I want... I don't care what the price is... I just want the fucker to look nice.

small hands, 1 carat is fine...do a platinum band and a round stone. those things are classic and timeless...dont do a heart shaped diamond in gold or something she may not like in 15 years b/c that will be another fat expense to reshape and remount it

Buy a stone by itself and have whoever you get it from put it in an inexpensive setting. You can have it reset when you find bands that you both like.
I had a one of a kind jewler....
He inherited his family's jewlery business, that has been in the family for something like 80 years. I'm not even sure he has a "real store" even.
This guy just flat out enjoys making rings for people, and gets more pleasure out of the reactions he gets when they see his work, as opposed to the actual money.
I mean he's been set for life since he was born, and lives in a HUGE plantation house with a few hundred acres of land that he's inherited, and just lives a very simple life.
Making jewlery is basically just a hobby for him just like fishing.
So I'm basically stealing what ever I end up buying. That's why I might as well get everything made, and customized, so it all matches now...
He has a diamond guy from NY that he gets some top notch shit from.

If you want to get a true feel for the market of diamonds shop the loose stones on ebay - huge selection from very large established online diamond brokers. You look at a hundred different listings and you will have a very good idea what you should be paying.

I have to go to the bank and get my wire information som Bookmaker can finally give me a payout... I've requested 3 in the past 2 weeks, and none have gone through. They are being assholes with my withdraw.
My friend had a pretty extravagant ring made by this guy 2 years ago... It was amazing... It was in the ball park of what I'm getting, only I think it had 100 tiny diamonds around the bands of the ring and band... With all that detail and a rock over 1c, I think it came to 7-8k, if I remember? I will have to call him today though.
