So here is my query. The family of the victims on their FB page wrote:
"It's true! We are beyond furious at the State of Idaho. They have failed us. Please give us some time. This was very unexpected. We appreciate all your love and support."
Often in tragic cases of violence those left picking up the pieces seek vengeance either through the courts or in their impact statements. This is a perfectly reasonable response, but not my preference.
What I don't get is those religious families that talk God, thoughts, and prayers; however, also seek retribution.
Enter the family who's FB page mentions faith and God but is furious the state made the deal of closure for sparing a life.
For the record not a value judgement on:
-this case, kohberger, the death penalty, plea deals, state's responsibility to confer with victims families, monetizing a memorial page, or anything other than preaching gods word and seeking death and vengeance.
