By the way, just before this home opener got underway, I noticed that the price on the Ducks had floated up to -150 and even -155. So, despite the fact I already had all the Ducks action I wanted at -135 and -133, l impulsively tripled up at -140.

And then 63 seconds into the game, I was instantly losing. 

Normally I become pessimistic about my team’s chances if they fall behind by more than one goal (or in baseball, by more than one run), but I wasn’t giving up on these Ducks despite the early 2-0 deficit. They were looking good for a team down by two. Once they scored on the power play, l thought to myself that they were gonna be alright if they could tie the score before the end of the 1st period.

Well, they just did. Cutter Gauthier one-timed a cross ice pass past Tristan Jarry with 34.7 seconds left.

Wow, the Penguins nearly scored AGAIN on a tip-in! That one went off the crossbar with 11 seconds left!

Third straight goal for the hungry home team as Drew Helleson puts the Ducks in front for the first time tonight.

Neither team can generate offense in this 3rd period. 

The Penguins’ Parker Witherspoon just flicked the puck into the stands and drew a Delay of Game penalty with 1:34 to go.

And the Ducks cashed in 7 seconds later.

4-3 lead for the home heroes.
