Utah's record = 12-11-3 (including 5-8-2 away) for 27 points.

Why is Utah a -150 favorite in this game?  

And Cooley had to leave the game last night in St. Louis..I don't expect him to play. Very curious line indeed.

I'm looking at this game now.  The only advantage I can see for Utah is that they have been slightly better offensively than the Sharks over their last 10 games.  2.6 goals per game for Utah vs. 2.0 goals per game for San Jose.  Not sure what's going on with SJ offense lately.  Defensively both teams have been playing equally.  Utah also has the revenge angle, losing to SJ in OT earlier this season.

THAT said, Utah has lost 7 straight road games and 10 of their last 13 overall.  They have no business being a -150 favorite on the road, especially if Cooley has a sore knee.  He avoided serious injury but even if he goes, I doubt he's 100 percent.  I'm not sure if I'm playing it or not yet but I have a soft spot for the Sharks and I think +125 has some value there 

Utah now up to -160 from -150 yesterday.

I am not the brightest but this looks like either a Mammary play or no play at all.

But I must say the bookmakers usually seem pretty smart to me.

Somehow whenever I see crazy lines like this, it usually ends up right.

Its very puzzling and I will be betting San Jose, couldn't help myself.

But somehow the bookmakers seem to make a fool out of me over & over.

Both teams are playing 3 games in 4 nights, don't know what effect that has on the home team.

Utah has a better +- on the season also.  But most of that is San Jose losing 6-0 to the Avalanche, 

who are the best team by a mile right now.  

I even bet the Sharks when I first saw the line thinking it would move against me, but the odds for SanJose

got slightly better, so crazy.  I just wanna see a close game my latest bets I've been getting blasted

I tend to agree with that assessment GASportsDoc. Not that it's going to happen tonight but I've seen this same money line scenario many times in the past and the favorite normally comesstrolling into the winners circle.

The oddsmakers are very smart.  I think most lines they make are sharp and on the up and up.  But once in a while I think they throw a curveball out there just to confuse us.  They had me doubting myself bigtime with that line movement.  It's so hard to see through it and bet with a clear head.  Good discussion though, thanks guys.
