Why are the pats 3.5 dogs?

I know they are on the road, but this ravens team isn’t the same team as the past 5 years. Pats have played well on both sides of the ball this year. And they are pissed the F off after last week.

I thought this would be a pick’em or pats slightly favored. This line smells, no?

Schedule, experience in these types of games.  They also have the highest true home field advantage in the league.  An elite QB that is used to being in this spot.  A defense that has been playing much better lately.  

This is a unique game in that this is a huge public play on Pats.  However, a lot of pros are also on the Pats after last week's game.

But the line opened at -2.5 and went to -3 and is now -3.5 at places.

One theory is this coach and QB and defense combo will step up in this situation.

You don't usually want to take teams in a 'must win' situation just because they got in this situation for a reason(s).

But one weird stat is that Lamar is like 16-0 in the last 2 weeks in December.

Yes it does not make sense to me and just on gut instinct for me it is a no play.

Also Spillane is out for NE - he's their leading tackler.

N9 Milton or Spillane makes Henry's job easier. Bal needs game more than NE.

lamar sucks ,don't trust

Since Milton Williams went out the defense is not the same.

Patriots gave up 100 yards rushing when he played first 10 games only 3 times.

Since he has been out, Patriots gave up 100 yards rushing all 4 games he missed

Check the teams that the Pats have beaten, there is your answer. The Ravens played elite teams and Lamar looks better each and every week. Plus this one means more to the Ravens and it is their last home game.

 It is all relative.  NE does not want to start a losing streak.  They still have a chance at the division, etc. 

BLT does not want to have to rely on beating PIT in the last game, etc.

Both 'need' the game in a sense.

But as I have said betting on teams that 'need' it more is never a solid plan because they got in that situation for a reason.

The NFL is cyclical. There are teams that play better in certain spots than others. There’s also times when a good team doesn’t look so great but the spot makes sense for them to come out and win and that is the case with the ravens this week
