I have no idea why he did it. I read online that the moron has his running backs on a pitch count?! That, in itself, is a fireable offense. And it’s laughable, if true. This is a violent game between men who risk life and limb on every play and where any a show of weakness equals defeat! Just look at how Shanahan used CMC all year, until the wheels fall off!!! A pitch or run count for a stud running back who is as bad and big as they come?! Are you kidding me? Lol.
Small potatoes, in 2019 the Ravens set the NFL record for rushing yards and in the 1st round of the playoffs, down by 2 scores the rb's touched the ball 6 times. I think they were down either 10 or 13. Another BIG game in Foxboro he rushes the field goal kicker in at the end of the game..with a time out in his pocket. etc etc etc etc..well you get the point. Down by 2 scores at halftime.
Ravens were driving inside Patriots 30 with a chance to go up 14-0 and Henry put it on the ground. I think at that point Harbaugh probably said enough is enough with this guy fumbling the ball. That was a critical fumble, 14-0 and I don’t think Pats win the game.
At a loss for words as to why Henry would not be in the game when you have the lead and need to grind out some yards and the the clock with your back up Qb in and when your defense is getting absolutely torched. Henry was like their only hope… even if you don’t give him the ball every play he draws attention and can block. NE was probably overjoyed at harbough stupidity not having to tackle a 250 lb guy in the cold in the 4th quarter. Harbough should be fired tomorrow .. season ended tonight.

That does not make sense because Henry played for important stretches after that and nearly won the game. Here is what has been reported:
“After the game, head coach John Harbaugh said Henry wasn't on the field for those final two drives because of the team's rotation at running back.
But Harbaugh also admitted Henry should have been out there.
"Harbaugh says Derrick Henry should have been in on the final drive. Plan was to rotate him and Mitchell and they should have gotten him in," FOX Sports' Greg Auman reported.”
Harbaugh needs to be fired.

Take out a big guy averaging 7.1 yards per carry blasting thru defenders and put a small guy in averaging 1.3 yards per carry. Basically gifted the pats defense the easy road. Never seen a coaching decision like that to not have your starting RB in with season on the line in basically the last meaningful game of your season harbaugh needs to be gone yesterday.
Just like he did against the Bills in week 1 which sparked their miraculous comeback and stuffing my bet in my ass.
That rotation bullshit is asinine. 12 min left of the game Henry doesn't get the ball again yet Keaton Mitchell is the main back the last two Raven drives? wouldn't that mean Henry should be running on the final Ravens drive trying to put the game away? Is the rotation going by quarter? I don't get it at all.
He's been called out for this before yet he keeps doing it again and again when he knows it's the reason it cost them the game. 17 years coaching in the NFL and for the same team is a nice feat, but he's long in the tooth and getting stale. Time to retire Harbs
