they took away one of the more exciting plays in the game as well as the kickoff return they're slowly making the game a joke and doesn't seem like they are going to stop

They have actually kinda brought the kickoff return back to some degree by penalizing a kick out of the end zone. As far as where they line up, they want to minimize the carnage of over sized athletes

I can understand what you are saying, getting burned by a bad call.
Imagine you are on the right side, your team has been covering all game long, then based on nothing more then random luck your opponent recovers onside kick and covers the spread.
This is why I don't like onside kicks, it brings more luck into the game.
I am for anything that takes luck out of the game. I am sure the league likes luck because it keeps fans in their seats and everyone can still believe they have a chance .
Bad calls are no doubt a bummer but I think they even out over time.
Maybe you can say the same about onside kicks. You could be on the wrong side and get onside kick to cover anyway.

That's what they say, but it's not really about that. It's the same reason they've pussyfied the nba, but allow the wnba to play like the most physical creatures on earth.

fewer injuries = less money owners/teams have to pay. less people on the roster. less money spent on surgery, rehab, etc.
while these extremely rich, mostly white owners dont give f8**s about the players, they do very much care about their money so they gave in to the new kickoff rules.
i agree with the OP that it's given on sides kicks a huge backseat. no more OSK surprises that made the game a little more interesting.
there is more strategy with the new kickoff rules which is cool for those that have understood it and figured it out, but the OSK are pretty much meaningless now

it took over 130 years of professional football to come to that conclusion?
