People betting with no knowledge

I have this kid I know Im friends with on FB and he loves to brag about winning NFL bets. Rarely shows his tickets. Anyways today he did He played a 4 game parlay hit 3, last leg was tonights game he had O52 or whatevr it was. He tells a story how he knew it would go under but read himself out of it, and took the O52. He laid 100$/3000$. I said to him "thats why you shouldve hedged the U52 for 1k" he says "I know but it was a 4 game parlay" lmao, im guessing he had no idea what I was talking about. So I explained it to him and said "well now ya know"  I feel people like that should not be betting at all haha. Just figured Id share a funny story of someone that is clueless to what hes doing.

Good on you for giving him a heads up. A lot of us have to make costly mistakes before we figure it out. 

Like the rest of us "experienced" bettors, you learn the hard way.  To make things worse, it's not only "hard" but the tuition at the "University of Sports Betting" is also rather quite expensive.  Many of us students have had to re-learn lessons over and over again even though we already know the answer.  For example, lessons that are learned over and over again include but are not limited to:

Over betting (Betting too many games/events)

Bankroll management (Implementing a "unit" system and at the most betting 1-2 units a day and no more)

Discipline (Maybe only betting 1 game a day, waiting for a REAL opportunity. For the disciplined, even that is too much.)

Sports betting math (Why betting at -110 is different from betting at -115, -120, etc)

I'm slowly having to relearn these lessons even though I've been betting for over 10 years..

Omg puhleez...i just hit a 28 game parlay and it paid 2800-1...i just collected today 

I had $250 on mine and my book pays normal odds on five teamers 20/1. Your book is laughing his aSS off that he was able to short you on your after the games are over parlay
