3* BENGALS +5' over Steelers - Not counting Thanksgiving Day games, Pittsburgh is 1-9 SU in Thursday games, including 0-6 vs. the AFC North since 2009. QB Aaron Rodgers and an opportunistic defense are carrying this team. They're averaging just 277.8 yards a game on offense, including just 84 on the ground (3.4 YPR). But they're +7 in net turnovers and have 20 QB sacks, so it stands to reason if Cincy can protect Joe Flacco and play clean they have a chance here. Another aspect of the turnover stat: the Steelers have fumbled five times and haven't lost a single one. That's simply not sustainable. Eventually that kind of luck will turn against them. As for Cincinnati, despite Flacco joining the team in the middle of last week, he and the Bengals offense caught fire in the second half of their 27-18 loss at Green Bay. After trailing 10-0 at the break with only 48 yards of total offense, the Striped Cats amassed 220 yards in the second half and didn't punt a single time! And for the game they allowed 0 sacks and didn't turn the ball over once! They'll need that kind of effort tonight against an opportunistic Steeler team and I think they'll get it. I wouldn't be shocked if Cincy wins outright. Feels like a 23-20 kind of game.
I'll have my NFL Ponderings thread up no later than Saturday if anyone's interested. BOL
