So your biggest wager was going against one of the best QBs ever on a night he would be fired up vs the most penalized team of the last 40 years.

2nd is against the most dominant super bowl winners in recent memory who beat a team going for a 3 peat without the game even being close, with the best RB and o line in the NFL vs a team that can't stop the run, is rebuilding and has a QB coming off an injury and just lost their best player on the whole team to a trade. And who nobody has seen play yet this season.

You said the same thing in Jan and lost by a hook in the Houston/KC game.  When I read your post just now it sounded very familiar because I also bet against Favre in that game and always considered it one of the dumbest betas I ever placed.  So your post stuck when I read it back in Jan.  Sure enough I checked your post history and it was you.  GTFO 

Good luck. If I bet this game I would be on Dallas +8, but I just went w Dak o1.5 TD passes bc I do think they will score, and if they do its gonna be through the air. I think you are imagining that the players will be motivated by a point spread and we just have no reason to believe that. Its possible sure but who knows. My point is just that its not a strong angle to justify your second largest bet ever and 10 units.

You're talking about technical factors. I'm talking about motivational factors.

If this were a Week 5 game, for example, I'd completely agree with you. But it's a debut game, division rivals, national broadcast, and a lot of people watching. There's an extra motivation for the Cowboys that isn't related to handicapping.

 First of all, let me say best of luck. I hope the Cowboys win straight up.

With that said, let me give you a bit of truth. I have been a Cowboys fan since I was 5. I have been betting on football since 4th grade, and started handicapping in 6th grade. The Cowboys are one of a handful of sports franchises, the Dodgers being another, who have such huge fan bases, and such historically skewed public perception, that you can never get true and fair odds taking them. It's almost always fade or no bet. This is true for almost all Cowboys games, ML and points, as well as things like season win total over.

The Eagles being defending champions helps balance this out but if the oddmakers are installing the Eagles as 8 point faves, they probably believe the'll win by 10, easily. This is a competitive rivalry. Dak always plays Philly tough. Second biggest wager of your life though? It's the first game of the season. You haven't had a chance to cap the teams in actual play.

If they cover, don't they have to score at least 20? Do you think the line is at 47.5 and the game is gonna be 20-17 Philly? 20-13 Philly? Dallas outright in a low scoring affair? If the latter, best off sprinkling 20% of your wager on Cowboys ML and the rest on Cowboys TT over. Just my two cents, as a massive Cowboys fan I hope you're right and they come to play. I trust Dak and the offense way more than the Cowboys front 4.
