San Francisco is handing the keys to Mac Jones with Brock Purdy out, and I like the fit with Kyle Shanahan in this spot. Jones’ game is quick decisions, tight footwork, and living on time. That pairs with Shanahan’s motion and formation creativity that creates simple answers and keeps the ball moving without asking receivers to win every snap in isolation. That rhythm travel style reduces noise from a road environment and limits negative plays, which matters when you are catching a field goal.
The Bucs defense is sturdy inside with real pop, so you do not beat them by banging your head at the line all day. Shanahan’s script uses shifts and orbit looks to widen the alleys, then hits easy throws off it. Christian McCaffrey’s gravity forces linebackers to cheat a step and that opens glance routes, leaks, and tight end drifts. You do not need explosive plays every series if you can stack efficient ones and stay on schedule. That is exactly the environment where Jones can function as a point guard and let YAC do the damage.
On the other side, San Francisco’s defense gets a little deeper this week. Malik Mustapha is active and Trevis Gipson gives another edge body. The Niners tend to keep a lid on explosives and make you drive the long way. Long fields plus Tampa’s injuries at skill spots tilt the script toward a tighter scoring texture. A tight game favors the dog when you trust its situational operation and tackling. And SF has shown their ability to win close games this year with Saleh back.

Tampa can still land shots. Baker Mayfield can push it and the front is physical. The clean path for the Bucs is early short fields and turning third and medium into third and long with interior wins. The problem is that Shanahan’s quick game and motion often neutralize the pass rush by making the ball come out on rhythm. If San Francisco avoids the one big turnover, the down to down math suits them.
With Purdy out the number moved to Bucs favored by a field goal or a tick more in places. My projection is closer to a coin flip given the coaching edge in scripting and Jones’ fit in a timing offense. Getting three with a team that can win the explosive battle on defense and the efficiency battle on offense is enough for me to fire. If your book shows three and a half, that is a strong upgrade.

I see the writing on the wall it’ll be all over ESPN. What will the 49ers do next week? Do they start purdy after Mac Jones wins three games in a row putting them 49ers in a bad spot after paying their mediocre quarterback a quarter of $1 billion I’m going with the 49ers

Not a fan of taking a team where the backup won last time and plays again they usually don't shine so bright the next week but SF leads the NFL in passing so they do have a good system. I think a lot of that though is teams keying on their run game

It's all about the brace, the brace, the brace...This is Mac, he plays sports!
Who knows who plays next week. But TB was thought to have a let down sooner or later, but this week was scary if Mac went down, and East Coast travelling...but they were in it for awhile!!!

You really do need to stop with your obsession with the forty niners JG
You are better off just posting other games other than your beloved niners because you have clearly shown the forum that your plays on them are nothing but a mere chance of luck for a desirable outcome of your love for them.
