vegas dont lose, everybody on lions , lions win but bears cover the spread

though i'm fairly large on DET, this is the exact scenario i am afraid of.. could easily see detr winning by 3 or 4.

Vegas doesn't win because of public betting. Vegas wins because of the juice they charge on each bet. Even if you pick 51% lifetime on point spread straight wagers, you'll wind up losing a shit load of money to the sportsbooks just because of juice.

Come on now, if you got the line at 5.5, then the Lions is the perfect play to put your money down on them. Now, if Joe Public is still hammering the Lions at 7 or 7.5, then it has nothing to do with Vegas or anyone, its just a bad play to take the Lions to lay the 7.5. Remember, betting isnt about being on the public side or on the underdog side or whatever. Its all about breaking down the game and trying to get the best line possible. In this case it was 5.5, now with it being up to 7 and 7.5 in some places, the best move would be to sit this out....
