Where Do You Think the Betting Industry Is Headed?

Feels like the betting world has changed more in the last 5 years than the previous 20.

You’ve got:

Sportsbooks everywhere — in ads, on broadcasts, even sponsoring teams

Live betting, micro bets, cashouts, and now same-game parlays as the norm

Algorithms and AI models being used by casual bettors

Gamblers being marketed to like influencers — daily boosts, "streaks", loyalty tiers

And on the other end... people going broke chasing +1000 parlays on a Tuesday night

I’m not against it — I bet too. But I do wonder:

Is this becoming a long-term, sustainable part of sports culture? Or are we heading for some kind of crash or correction?

Are books getting too sharp? Are promos drying up?

What happens when casual bettors stop “having fun” and realize they never win?

Just throwing it out there. Curious what others think — is this peak betting? Or just the beginning?

sportsbetting was legalized... and that changed everything you all know now 

Here in Vegas, it's dying. Tourism is down for the 6th straight month, and down over 11% since last year. All these books online offer so many more ways to bet.

Vegas is pissing me off. I can’t even bet WNBA lines when they first come out and they open on the East Coast/other books early…FD, DK, and ESPN Bet. Lines move points before available. Vegas doesn’t adapt or care. 

Personally I think legalizing it was the main reason!

Betting industry is headed online. Only thing you'll need a casino for is craps. Everything else can be played online. Lots of people will be broke because of easy access

 That's why the Indian casinos are against online betting in states like Cali and Minnesota; they want asses in the casinos, playing those slots and buying overpriced drinks and food.

Curious to see if the pendulum swings back at all - casino reward programs are going to have offer experiences to get people back in person. I'm on the younger side so I don't know historically but have heard that the in-person experience has fallen off a cliff since the legalization of online

Everything else is moving online

The future of gambling is bright... unless you're the gambler. this will accelerate the poor getting poorer scenario, which no one will care about, since we will not run out of poor people anyway. 

with gambling moving online, it will actually be cheaper to get people's money than it is opening a casino...hmm maybe we guys should make our own online casino instead hahahaha
