This acronym is used way too loosely now. Everyone is better than prior generations so they claim. It's not true. I'll take 1980s 1990s NBA/NCAA any day. You cannot compare because eras never remain the same. Evolution in terms of players and game strategy is perpetual. The human body even a pro athlete's can only sustain so much and there are exceptions of guys playing into their 40s. I think Wembanyama is a generational talent but like Yao Ming his body will not be able to take the wear and tear. Freakish size like that playing pro sports is asking too much of the human body game in game out season after season.

Careful that skinny legs of his is hard to be healthy. That’s just fact. Also taking into account later on in his career will he a broadcaster like Shaq? No I doubt it.

Yeah, feel like he's a little thin which may impact his durability. But then if he puts on weight/muscle, that also puts more stress on his knees/ankles/feet.
Still have to wait and see how durable he is long run. Look at what happened to Yao Ming.

Cus I love your dog picks in all sports but do you mean Kobe Bryant breaking down or Kobe Bryant the goat? If you mean breaking down raping women and not routinely playing 80+ you are correct. If you mean this goat stuff surely you jest lol. Kobe Bryant was a great All Star player no doubt but the greatest now that's just funny. The greatest ball hog and worst teammate? Yea I can agree to that.

Wembanyama is definitely poised to be one of the greatest. The sport is not that old in reality so plenty of more names will be added. It's just a question if he can remain on the court and have a lengthy career. While I am not a huge fan of his big mouth or political stances LeBron James is the greatest all around player at this point. Built like Karl Malone with the skills of a guard, forward, and center James had all the intangibles. And the biggest attribute of all is he made teammates better and played a team game mindset in an era of sybaritic pursuits lol.
Michael Jordan to me watching that guy play basketball was a science. His entire career from starting at the ground floor in a mid size market to building it and sustaining it until the end was something out of a. perfectly scripted fantasy. Kawhi Leonard's game (minus the above the rim stuff very few compare and nobody flew and hung in the air like Mike) reminds me of Jordan's a lot. I think a lot of that comes from Kawhi playing in college and applying lost fundamentals engrained in players by their coaches which develop good habits in tandem with their natural skills. Dean Smith with Jordan in North Carolina. Steve Fisher with Leonard when he was at San Diego State. The 2000s brought the streetball high school phenoms and while perhaps more skill less fundamental oriented basketball. Now here we are after the Chauncey's Pistons dismantled Bryant's Lakers and teams can no longer play real defense and centers run around at the three point line oblivious to what the block is in the key. Oh well glad I stopped watching a long time ago but not betting

@MatthewJL46
The GOAT has nothing to do with his personal life matters; I'm talking strictly on a basketball court.

Not even close. I hated watching that guy play the rare times I did. But certainly a great player and father and husband and fearless pilot

These guys self worth are so inflated they all think they are GOATS starting from middle to high school. Paid and honored like gods so much so they need private jets or helicopters because they can put a ball in a basket. Too impatient to take the 5, 405, 210, or 10 freeways in southern CA. Too special to sit in traffic like other plebes in a team van. Pride comes before the fall or shall I say a steep descent into oblivion. Well I remember and still do when goat meant something much different. In fact it was like the antonym of what it's used for today. Because the word is hyperbole nowadays. There's only one God I pray to ![]()
