Idiot Boone left in the cripple Goldschmidt to run. Made zero sense, especially when you have Rice on the bench.

Chapman is one of the best ever. You pitch long enough in save situations you will have blemishes. He has had his share. Rivera, Wagner, Hoffman, Lee Smith all lost it too at times. Rivera blew it in the World Series too. Rivera happened to play for a premier franchise and had an elite team contending practically every season he played. Rivera set the standard with a lot of durability and consistency. He doesn't touch 600 plus saves on the 1990s and 2000s seasons if he is in a Tigers, Orioles, Royals, Pirates, et al uniform. It's a matter of circumstance and luck too but he still executed.

At 37 (chalk it up to freakishness or PEDs) Chapman is throwing 100 MPH when he wants but has reinvented himself as a pitcher. Not a flamethrower counterintuitive to the velocity obsessed theories of the past couple decades. I give him credit. You can impress radar guns but if you can't evolve your craft as a pitcher the best hitters in the world will eventually adjust to you.
