I feel like its kinda like seeing a movie you loved when you were a kid, then you see it now when your older, you realize it was never as good as you thought.

Fight back the tears guy -the  forum has new , swashbuckling cappers running rampant everywhere - some are pretty sharp , others down right annoying- the current grouping is a collection of warriors , wizards and wonderboys , follow the old guard and you will find the promised land - seek not to know the answers but to understand the question

It's the summer doldrums. The winds will pick up soon. Less than three weeks left. The rum is almost gone and the salted pork is beginning to go bad. Must hold on......

I've been here for long time now and these posts existed even back when I first joined.  Two years from from now you'll see posts saying how much better things were here a couple years ago.

Unfortunately, covers had to take themselves too seriously and squeezed a lot of the fun out of everything.  

There used to be a TON of people on covers who were off the charts witty/funny.  It's almost impossible now.....you can't even use half the words in the English language.

Think about it, when it the last time a thread has been archived?  I can't remember.  Go read some of the archived threads.  None of them would be possible under the current format.

Much of the humor is gone.  Some of the old guard is still here and some interesting subjects occasionally show up.

Yeah...I read a NoseHair or FartNSniff archive thread every few months or so for a good laugh.

i definitely agree with a lot of the differences that have happened over the years.  New management to no humor or humor that only a select few can appreciate.  To me there's still a lot of stuff going on in here but a lot of times it's just being overlooked.  Nothing is never going to be the same, whether it's covers, or how you felt in high school.  It's always going to be time for something new so embrace all the good happening in the present.  For me, the ufc and free streaming video of many live sporting events that one normally has to pay for are not that exciting to me anymore.  In fact i don't even watch a lot of the live games going on unless i can make a lot of noise because i'm tired of watching stupid plays but that's just me.

who knows, this place might get better in 10 months or it can get worse in 3 years, i wouldn't be surprised if management either changed again or started to allow more shitt to go on because people tend to have bigger/better things to do as the years go on.  For me if i can meet 1 person out of 100,000 every now and then that i feel can relate to me/connect, i'm ok with that.  There's just not that many bright people no matter where you go, that'll feel the same way about you.  It's like the pretty girl you saw at the gym today, you might like her a lot but if she got to know you, she might not like you so that would be a no-go.  

just cause i never type "lol" doesn't mean that i'm actually really laughing every now and then you know, it's just that sometimes i like complaining during some of the games on here when i'm not at liberty to make any noise.

mind if i ask why you cant make noise? Are you talking about watching and rooting for a team noise.

it's like when you go to the bar and you're one of only a few people rooting for a certain outcome, it just wouldn't be right for me to use bad language in that type of setting you know.  or if i'm in the house with some company over, or having to worry about other business i need to do in between innings or something, that's what i meant about not being able to make noise because it's like therapy for me.  I know it sounds stupid and a lot of people laugh at all the emotions and complaining that goes on during in-game threads, but that's just me.
