You do the math…$11 billion to $22 billion is spent on welfare to illegal aliens each year by state governments. Illegal households only pay about one-third the amount of federal taxes that non-illegal households pay.

• Illegal households create a net fiscal deficit at the federal level of more than $10 billion a year. If given amnesty, this number could grow to more than $29 billion.
• $1.9 billion dollars a year is spent on food-assistance programs such as food stamps, WIC and free school lunches for illegal aliens.
• $1.6 billion is spent on the federal prison and court system for illegal aliens.
• $2.5 billion dollars a year is spent on Medicaid for illegal aliens.
• About 21 percent of the population of U.S. prisons is classified as “noncitizens” from Mexico, Colombia, Cuba and the Dominican Republic. About 5 percent is listed as “unknown.”

Immigration costs like all “costs" come out of the "TAXPAYOR" hide. These costs represent additional money creation that dilutes all the savings and assets in America.

There's plenty of people who are umemployed...granted it's not the most glamorous job, and pay sucks, but I'm sure some wouldn't mind it.  I know a couple people who just don't want to settle for less than what they had before getting laid off. I don't blame them, but sometimes you just gotta start somewhere and keep your eyes open for better opportunities down the road.

There will still be legal ones here that could fill in.....

High School/College students on summer break for one.The picking season is perfectly set up for students. Or, homeless people, or even me if I was out of work. I paid 10 dollars per person and 2.50 per pound to pick apples with my GF 2 summers ago. If I as a student, I would have loved to work a summer with my friends picking fruit. Great summer job.Also, how many guys do you know that have either started or tried to start a landscaping business? If "Acme Landscaping" is paying their crew 4 dollars an hour using all illegals so they can undercut your buddy's new business by charging 30 % less.So, now your buddy is in debt 20 grand for his truck and equipment and can't get any business because he has to charge a normal rate ( I'll et you finish that story yourself).You could also use people that have to complete community service per the Court for being a fuck up. I did 20 hours as a 15 yr old for driving without a license. I went to the town dump and cleaned their bathroom for 2 days. I'm sure I could have been put to better use.This is the bottom line: Would you rather pay 1.49 per pound for apples using illegals or 2 bucks a pound because the apples were picked by legal residents of the US and they were paid 9 bucks an hour? Keep in mind, the 1.49 apple is actually costing you 10 dollars a pound after insurance and welfare ( food stamps/ free education for his kids, housing subsidies,etc..)

That's the problem.  There is an atmosphere that is completely suited for illegals to cross over. 

So who do we blame?  The illegals?  The business owners? or the Govt?

michael - i dont disagree however do you want to pay double for your restaurant meals? landscaping? you cant kick all the illegals out and then mandate businesses double their labor costs. you need to destroy the minimum wage laws and let the market set wage rates

MLB - business owners did the natural response...bought the cheapest available competent labor. same reason why nike manufactures in malaysia etc. illegals mostly are just looking for work to send money home to build a house for their family...who's left? who turned a blind eye to all of this?

well arent most americans GUARANTEED a minimum wage? (very anti free market)...most think they should get benefits and pensions also whereas some that i used to know through an old warehouse had a saying "Dont work, dont eat"

that being said, i dont think many here support amnesty. adding tons of cheap labor to the market where there's no demand for labor only drives wages down even further

Do you think unemployed people that have exhausted unemployment benefits would look at these jobs a little differently now? I would also wager that if they had this type of job it would motivate them to get a better job. When people are on unemployment there is no motivation to secure a job until they're getting at the end of their funds.

I always reference my builder friend when I discuss this but he gave me a stat a few years ago during the housing boom that the rates which illegals were doing the jobs they were was 40% less than the same union worker..

So who do you think that small biz owner is going to hire and have perform the work?

Keep in mind that often times the work being done is off a competitive bidding process..so an electrician or a drywall company or a landscaping firm is bidding for these large jobs..I see it all the time in HOA's where illegals are doing the actual labor.

Pointing fingers at illegals is just a LARGE bit short sided..the fingers need to be pointed at the small biz owner, the lazy workers and the waste we deal with in other areas which makes the so-called "loss" from illegals to be table scraps especially if you include the monster waste of money we throw at poor attempts to contain the situation.

Logic would say, if folks are as upset as they are, buy American, pay a little more, and keep Americans working, thus buying these goods, although higher than they could buy, but it is a circle of need, want,and amking a profit! I just feel there hasv to be more BORDER PATROL with the weapons they need to defend themselves! Build a wall, monitored, and have enogh BP's to get there before the illegal gets 200 yrds!
