Why are coaches making so many bad decisions?

I just don’t understand some of these games I watch. I just don’t understand the decision making. Just now in the Vanderbilt game Vanderbilt is up to 14-10 with a minute to go and they go for a fourth and one in their own territory on the 40 yard line. of course they didn’t get it and LSU scored a field goal instead of probably ending the half with a  four point lead. The Oklahoma game fourth and goal on the 5 for South Carolina and they go for it against Oklahoma. They’re down 7-0.  Of course instead of taking three points. They didn’t get it.  So many games I just don’t understand with like 30 seconds left and they’re like in their 20 and taking deep shots.  All I know is years ago coaches punted more and took field goals because it was smart. Now they all take these risks that are just not necessary and not smart.  They’re acting like gamblers. The game has definitely changed and some of these coaches are just morons.

They coach like I used to play Madden

Michigan just did the same thing. In a tied game where neither offense is doing anything. Hopefully it costs them. 

Yeah, Mich 1-8 on the yr in 4th down conversions and they go for on 4th and 2 from the 4 yard line. Just stupid. Now 1-9.

Horrible call on 4th and 2, run it up the middle. 

Williams is giving the game away, so I guess it won’t matter
