What is a Gaucho??

I cannot answer that question but I am taking the UCSB Gauchos -9.5 over Portland Pilots.

Santa-Barbera has not had an especially great start, their best win by 3 over Seattle at a neutral, but this is a team returning a lot of key guys who are projected to battle Cal Irvine for the Big West title. They beat Portland by 41 last year ... for what that's worth.

Portland, projected to finish last in the 12-team WCC, has been non-competitive on the road. In their 3 road games, they lost by 37 to Wyoming, 22 to Stanford and 25 at Oregon last Wednesday. They did beat Kent State at home, but they will be back in enemy territory tonight and I don't see it going well. 0.5 units.

That's going to be it for today. Don't like this slate of games at all.

I did a little write up about when they played last year  40 pt win on the road by UCSB got some of their better players back too  both teams bad trends so , both teams shoot well. Portland a little better, UCSB better rebounding  UCSB mush better in assist  and assist to turnover ratio, and they do not turn it over a lot at home avg 10 a game and partland averaging 16 on the road, UCSB shooting the 3 at home at 40%, and they shoot much better at home averaging 88 a game, Portland 65 pts away

 Appreciate it brother. It's not a slam-dunk play by any stretch, but I didn't see a lot else out there today. I just don't know how some of these teams are gonna play over the holidays. It's kind of hit and miss. We'll see what happens.

Needed an easy, stress-free win like that after a dismal weekend. Not good on the betting front, and not good on the Buccaneers front. And as usual the Rangers gotta Ranger. And I got no clue what the Mets are doing this off-season.

Getting one early for Tuesday and we're heading back to Cali to get the cash:

Loyola Marymount -21.5: Morgan State is a very, very bad basketball team. They are thousands of miles away from their home in Maryland, playing their third game in Cali since Friday. They already lost by 47 to California and 30 to SF ... and they probably just want to get on a plane and get home for Christmas. They are 361st in KenPom (out of 365 teams) and they have 1 win over a Division 1 team, a home decision over an equally terrible Niagara squad. Marymount (161st in KenPom, 54th best defensively) started the season on fire, but staggered while their fine guard Jan Vide was out 5 games. Vide recently returned and got up closer to his normal minutes as the Lions just devoured a North Alabama team by 34 that is a much better squad than Morgan State. I think the Lions get the holiday fun started early by destroying the Bears on Tuesday night in Los Angeles. See this as a 94-58 type game. 0.75 units.

While I was doing that writeup, the line went up another half-point to -22. I have a feeling this might get to -24 or even -25 by tomorrow.

Good line you got but LMU not a very good offensive team. GL tho.  Sometimes the southern California sunshine brings out the best in players

 I think they only need to get to 80 against a horrible defensive team in Morgan State. Frustrated that my book won't let me play team totals on this game. Interesting the game total is dropping quite a bit too. I think they know Morgan State is gonna be lucky to get to 55 tonight.
