UNC struggles

Obviously my Tarheels have gotten off to an up and down start. I think the UNC struggles all go back to Hubert Davis. It’s very clear when you look at him he’s just not as smart as Roy Williams. I think after this season they need to go another direction. We need to find another Roy. A coach like Jay Wright, coach k, Randy Bennett, Larry Brown, Bobby Hurley, either of those fat fuck Van Gundy’s or hell I’d even settle for Frank Martin (if I really had to)

 That’s a good point about Davis. He obviously is not the right man for the job. It’s basically the same thing as Penny Hardaway.  Neither of them (as well as many others Juwan Howard, Patrick Ewing, Lavall Jordan) are capable of handling that locker room. These teams need to hire coaches like Bruce Drew or Wes Miller to straighten things out. 

As a big UNC fan, I’ve also had the same thought this season. He can’t seem to motivate the team. Only time they’re motivated to compete is when they’re at home. And I don’t think he has anything to do with that, it’s simply because they’re at home. I’m all about being patient since he had some big shoes to fill. But if things don’t get way better next season, they should go in another direction.

I don’t want to get too far off-topic here, but has anyone talked to Nropp recently? Last time I heard of him he was banging Stuckey’s wife behind his back. Neil used to be a piggy bank for a lot of users on here.

 It’s a good bounce back spot at home. I think they can get there. Thinking on the longer term here I see clear issues with the coaching of this team though

 Hahahah was he really banging Stuckeys wife??  Thats hilarious.  But last I heard he had a website that no longer exists.  But he was a wealth of knowledge.  

As far as firing Hubert.....we are like 20 games into his first season.  Everyone on this roster was picked by Roy.  I don't know if you've looked at incoming freshman the next couple years but we have top 15 recruiting classes the next two years.  Everything I read, the guys love playing for him.  Why would Randy Bennett leave St. Marys?  Coach K is retiring.  Jay Wright isn't going anywhere.  The Van Gundys?????? HAHAHAHAHAHAHA.  I don't think we are thinking of the same Bobby Hurley cause they one I'm thinking of isn't doing anything worth talking about. Larry Brown??? He's like 85 years old, what the hell would he know what to do with 18 year old kids???

Big Heels fan here also. They had a couple tough games the last 2 vs Mia and WF.  Both those games were on the road and both Mia and WF  each I think had only lost one game at home. Bacot has missed those games with the tailbone injury. Hopefully he can come back tonight. I think they give Hubert a chance to prove himself. Let's not jump to call to replace him after 18 games. He has the Heels at 12-6   with 13 regular season games left. If they play just above .500 and win 7 of those 13 ,they finish at 19-12.  Roy started his run in the first year at 19-11. The great Dean started at 8-9. We have how great both of them did for the Heels nation. I just think we should give Hubert the chance to get it going too. I sure hope he does and can lead the Heels back to the top of the pack soon. As a Heels fan,its been tough to take the big losses. I have faith they will be back and we will all be enjoying some great seasons in the near future

 I'm a huge Tar Heel fan.  Bacot DID play the last two games and had a double/double in both.  Without him, the Heels probably lose the last two by 50.  Heels have played well at home and I hope the three home games this week help to turn them around.  The road has been a terrible spot for them for the past few years.  Go Heel!!

 Yes,you are correct. I read that on covers and even watched him in the WF game. Must be my age or been driving to many miles last couple days. Anyways,yes I hope your right and they get a few wins at home coming up. I still think Hubert will be ok,at least I hope so. Go Heels

 I’ve been around these forums since 2005. I still keep in touch with Neil. He tells me every once in a while when stuckey gets totally inebriated at the bar (so basically every week) the wife give Neil a ring. George DiDaniels can’t even please his own wife so Nropp has to handle it haha

Coaches skin color probably had a good reason for this original poster to have this opinion.  Heard the same about Penny and Juan Howard. 

You want to fire a coach halfway through his first season? Teams, players, staff, take time to gel, most true sports people know that. This Carolina fan says go back to your little corner and play with your Roy Williams bobblehead.
