1* 27-20
2* 8-8
3* 1-1
4* 0-1
5* 0-0
Again, +.500 day on picks, but units in the wrong place. But I'd make the Bama/Purdue over bet everytime they play at that number. Can't believe they didn't get there.
1* IU-Indy/Eastern Michigan Over 186.5
Indy has no interest in defending anyone in the half court. They full court press the whole game. They either get a steal, or give up a lay up. All four of their games have played over 85 possessions. EMU isn't fast by any means, but everyone is fast against this IU team. Crazy way to play ball, and as we see, it doesn't work, but its fun to watch.
1* Lehigh/Rutgers Under 140.5
Lehigh has played two DI games, both against very very good defenses in Houston and WVU, and neither game got to this number. I don't think Rutgers poses the same offensive threats as the previous mentioned opponents, but they do bring that defensive tenacity. A game that should see 65ish possessions, means the offenses have to be pretty sharp to get home, and I don't think they can do it.
1* Iona Gaels -5.5
Fordhams first road game, and while the travel won't be difficult, the opposing gym could bring issues. It's a tiny place, that can get loud. Only holds like 2500 people. The Rams haven't played a team with this talent level yet either, and I think Iona forces their will to speed things up, gets Fordham uncomfortable, and this one gets away from them in the second half.
1* DePaul Blue Demons +5.5
DePaul got caught looking ahead to his game, and dropped one to Buffalo as an 18 point favorite. They will be ready for this one. Cross town rivals coming into your gym, after you just got embarrassed? I'll take the more desperate team, on their home floor, in a rivalry game. CJ Gunn has a coming out night.
1* Colorado Buffalos -1.5
This travel sucks for Providence. Rhode Island to Colorado is a long ways. First game in a true road gym. Add in the altitude factor and I think Tad Boyle and company win this game by double digits. Buffs should be able to dominate on the glass, and interior offensively.
1* Michigan/TCU Over 158.5
Michigans offense is playing at a top 50 pace and the 12th shortest offensive possessions, so they aren't passing up any good looks. They are 11th in effective FG% and 3rd in 2pt%. TCU is 50th in offensive poss. length, and has already posted a 100+ effort this year. Should be a pretty good game as long as the Frogs show up for the big lights.
1* Arizona Wildcats -3.5
Kinda can't believe this number isn't closer to 6, but I'll take it. UCLA hasn't been very impressive from an offensive standpoint given who they've played, and Arizona is going to score on just about anyone they play. They do have a big date with UCONN on deck, but that isn't until Wednesday of next week, so hoping the focus in on the present.
GL everyone. Last day to record handicaps on GHIN in Missouri so off to the golf course I go.
