That time of year. First week of football and  and I’ve done plenty of studying… 2 teams come to mind when winning next year’s ship. Also have several Conference futures… will post later tonight…

My 25-26 Ship & Conference Winners…

Championship Futures: 

Duke +1200

UConn +1200

Best reload imo from top to bottom. Great culture that shows blue collar mentality on both ends of the floor. Houston would make this list, but they lost 2 major offensive players. 

Why Duke? The freshmen they brought is i think slightly better than LY. Everyone is downgrading this team due to losing Flagg, but Cameron Boozer isn’t far off from what he can do for the org…more physical player than Flagg. They also bring in 2 very outstanding & versatile prospects in Sarr & Khamenia…team is ridiculously loaded at the guard position…

Why UConn? They bring back plenty of production from young and inexperienced team from LY. Year 2 under Hurley will make a very interesting year. Like the Duke play better, but can see Duke & UConn as both facing one another. Insurance play.

ACC: Duke +220…excellent value imo.

Big East: UConn +150…should be even money or -120.

Mountain West: Utah State +385 & Boise State +550…imo Aztecs are overvalued, with what’s coming back from these 2 squads. 

Big West: UC Santa Barbara +260…UCI & UCSD lost a ton, and Gouchos brought in the best talent in the conference…ex PG Mahaney from St Mary’s/Uconn is a solid add. 

Big 10: Ohio State +600 & Oregon +2200…not sold on Purdue especially their defense.

SEC: Arkansas +650….Florida lost too much and shouldn’t be favored in this conference. UK is loaded, but not sure how they’ll jive…seems like a soft team imo.

Big 12: BYU + 325 & Kansas +1200…Again, Houston has a great culture, but losing 2 leaders and a huge chunk of their offense has me questioning this team…

Putting money on a Diebler lead team is very bold. Should be more like +1200 for him to win the conference. Florida also took Arkansas best player (maybe 2nd) and have returned their entire front court. Tough conference to predict with all the skilled teams. Always BOL

 Fading Purdue is more my intention. @ +150 and no defense, B10 is up for grabs. 
Florida losing 3 very good guards and backfilling them with a Harvard guard, 2nd year Arkansas transfer is a huge downgrade for me. Games are won in the backcourt and Florida isn’t want they were.
