Rasmus Dahlin scored 48 seconds into overtime to lift the visiting Buffalo Sabres to a 3-2 win against the Vancouver Canucks on Sunday.

Dahlin took a pass from Alex Tuch along the wall and cut to the slot, going five-hole on Thatcher Demko.

Casey Mittelstadt had a goal and an assist for the Sabres, who have won four of their past five games. Craig Anderson made 30 saves.

J.T. Miller had a goal and an assist and Demko made 26 saves for the Canucks, who lost their third straight and are 1-3-2 in their past six.

The Sabres had lots of energy out of the gate and capitalized to take a 1-0 lead at 1:50 of the first period. Mittelstadt took a feed from Victor Olofsson in the neutral zone and took advantage of time and space as he skated to the slot before firing glove side on Demko.

Miller tied it 1-1 for Vancouver at 2:31 of the second period when he cut to the net, got around Sabres defenseman Will Butcher and lifted the puck top right corner. The puck quickly exited the net and play continued for 12 seconds before a review confirmed it had crossed the goal line.

Jeff Skinner put the Sabres ahead 2-1 at 3:55. With the sides playing 4-on-4, Dahlin sent a pass under Canucks defenseman Tyler Myers, who had dropped to the ice. Skinner, who was uncovered, glided to the left of the net to lift it over Demko.

Vancouver challenged for offside, but the goal stood after video review.

Bo Horvat tied it 2-2 on the power play at 13:32. Miller faked a shot from the left circle before feeding Horvat at the inner edge of the circle.

Zemgus Girgensons came close to giving the Sabres the lead again with 38 seconds remaining in the middle frame when he took his own rebound at the left of the net, but Demko denied him with a double pad-stack save.

Miller nearly put the Canucks on top with 1:14 remaining in the third when he cut to the net and forced Anderson into a save as players piled in the crease.
