After a week away with the coveted Green Jacket, OWGR No. 1 Scottie Scheffler is returning to PGA Tour action — but this time with Ryan Palmer as a teammate for the Zurich Classic of New Orleans at the Pete Dye-designed TPC Louisiana.

This pairs competition, the only Tour team event, includes two days of best ball and two days of alternate shot with groups such as Collin Morikawa-Viktor Hovland, Patrick Cantlay-Xander Schauffele, and last year's champions Cameron Smith and Marc Leishman highlighting the field.

Check out the full Zurich Classic of New Orleans odds below, which runs from April 21-24 at TPC Louisiana. You can also read our Zurich Classic outright predictions as well as Tour Junkies' full lineup of best bets

Notes on the Field

The field this week features five of the OWGR Top 10 and 10 of the Top 20 with a strength-of-field rating of 458. Notable pairings include last year's champions Cameron Smith and Marc Leishman, the best-friend combo of Patrick Cantlay and Xander Schauffele, and World No. 1 and reigning Masters champion Scottie Scheffler, paired with 2019 winner Ryan Palmer.

Pre-tournament favorites to win the Zurich Classic

Viktor Hovland/Collin Morikawa (+850)

In terms of world ranking and potential, there may not be a better tandem than that of Viktor Hovland and Collin Morikawa, who enter the week as +850 betting favorites.

This high-powered pairing was announced just weeks ago and the expectations will be high for them to perform. Morikawa finished fifth at Augusta National and T26 at the RBC Heritage last week while Hovland has cooled down relative to his string of worldwide victories and Top-5 finishes to start the year, but form rarely matters with guys of this caliber.

With all of the talent and ball-striking prowess you can ask for, only time will tell how these two will fair in this week's format.

Patrick Cantlay/Xander Schauffele (+850)

Second on the board is a more familiar combo of top-ranked guys: Patrick Cantlay and Xander Schauffele, also available at +850.

These guys are great friends, play practice rounds together every single week, and will be making their second start as a pairing at the Zurich Classic, finishing T11 here a year ago.

Xander has been abnormally quiet in 2022 but Cantlay enters the week fresh off a somewhat unlucky playoff loss to Jordan Spieth at the RBC Heritage. Could they put it together for a week?

Marc Leishman/Cameron Smith (+1,000)

The third and final pairing with 10/1 odds or better is last year's champions, Marc Leishman and Cameron Smith, on the board at +1,000.

The Australian duo edged out Louis Oosthuizen and Charl Schwartzel in a playoff last year en route to victory and with how great Smith has been to start 2022 — having already notched two Tour wins this season — it's not a shock to see this tandem among the top pairings once again.

Ryan Palmer/Scottie Scheffler (+1,200)

Fourth on the board but certainly not to be underestimated is a new pairing of Ryan Palmer and now-Masters winner Scottie Scheffler.

Palmer won this event in 2019 alongside Jon Rahm and defended that title to the tune of a seventh-place finish a year ago (canceled in 2020), but is now joining forces with the best golfer in the world.

Scheffler is on a run of four Tour victories in six starts, including his first major win at Augusta National two weeks ago. Finished T8 here a year ago with Bubba Watson as his partner.

Notable sleepers

Talor Gooch/Max Homa (+2,500)

A pairing that may not jump off the page, but probably should, is that of Talor Gooch and Max Homa, down the board at +2,500.

Since Gooch's victory at the RSM Classic in the fall, he's been a leaderboard mainstay with a Top 10 and two other Top 20s in three of his last four starts. Homa, on the other hand, has a win himself this season (Fortinet Championship) and has Top 20'd in four of his last six starts.

Together, they could very easily find themselves on the leaderboard's first page come the weekend.

Justin Rose/Henrik Stenson (+6,000)

Further down at the 60/1 mark is the high-profile veteran pairing of Justin Rose and Henrik Stenson.

Neither enters the week in much form, but a much more relaxed week and a fun pairing can lend itself to some good golf. Finished T11 as a duo here a year ago.
