The Chicago Blackhawks were atop the NHL for almost an entire decade, picking up three Stanley Cup wins led by Jonathan Toews and Patrick Kane. But with everything in life, all good things must come to an end.

The Blackhawks have already shipped off the majority of their key pieces, looking to rebuild and potentially land super-prospect Connor Bedard. With Kane standing as the last significant piece worth moving, it's only a matter of time before the superstar winger is shipped off.

Here are the current NHL odds for teams favored to land Patrick Kane.

The situation at a glance

Patrick Kane has become one of the game's best offensive players, amassing 1,200 points over his 16-year career with the Chicago Blackhawks. However, with the team in full tank mode and their contending days behind them, the time has come to find Patty Kane a new home.

Although he hasn't outright said he wants to be moved, it's hard to envision him on the team at the end of the year. The only issue is that Kane has a no-trade clause in his contract, meaning he'll need to approve wherever he gets moved.

Chicago's season has been going as planned, sitting last in the Central Division with just 18 points. Kane leads the team in scoring — 20 points in 24 games — but even those numbers have him on pace for his lowest point total since the lockout-shortened season where he put up 66 points in 56 games.

The star right winger still has the skillset, he just isn't surrounded with the same talent he was when the Blackhawks captured three titles in six years. With so many franchises just "one piece away" from capturing the Stanley Cup, Kane fits the bill for whatever team is willing to part ways with future assets to take on his $10.5 million cap hit to automatically add a top-line winger.

With this being the final year of his contract, which team is willing to take the risk and go all in on a proven superstar that will add an immediate impact — but also get his blessing to be traded there?

Favorites to land Patrick Kane

New York Rangers (+248)

Sitting at the top of the list are the New York Rangers, who have all the pieces to make a trade happen. New York currently holds valuable trade assets in youngsters Dylan Garand, Kaapo Kakko, and Vitali Kravtsov, as well as two first-round picks in the upcoming draft this June.

Although much less likely, the Rangers also have Alexis LaFreniere and Brennan Othmann, so there is no shortage of moves they can make. Chicago will be looking for a lot of future assets, and the Rangers' front office will have more than enough to offer.

Another storyline heading into this is the presence of Artemi Panarin. The Russian winger spent the first two years of his season with Chicago and has since blossomed into a legitimate superstar. The idea of linking back up with his former teammate may play a big part in Kane waiving his NTC.

As it stands right now, New York can't afford Kane's massive cap hit, but the move of Ryan Reaves has shown us this team is willing to make moves to free up some space. As we've seen before, Chicago may also be willing to retain some of his contract as long as the Rangers make it worth its while.

Boston Bruins (+335)

The Boston Bruins have the second-best record in hockey right now, skating to a 20-3-0 record. But as we've seen before with this front office, Don Sweeney is not afraid to make a move to bolster his roster heading into the postseason — trading for Rick Nash in 2018, Taylor Hall in 2021, and Hampus Lindholm in 2022.

Judging by their record, you would think the B's would be content with the depth they have. However, it's nearly impossible to pass up a chance to land a talent like Patty Kane, and Boston has enough heavy cap hitters on its payroll to clear up space if need be.

The only thing the Bruins are really lacking to make a trade happen is their poor prospect pool, ranking as one of the worst in the league. With their main corps aging and this potentially being the real last chance this corps can win another Stanley Cup, it'll be interesting to see just how far they'll go to make a final splash and pick up Kane.

Calgary Flames (+401)

Rounding out the Top 3 in the Patty Kane sweepstakes are the Calgary Flames, who are no strangers to making big-time deals. After Johnny Gaudreau left and Matthew Tkachuk wanted out, Calgary traded for Jonathan Huberdeau and MacKenzie Weegar, making it known it hasn't given up its cup aspirations yet. The signing of Nazem Kadri also helped bolster this team's offense.

The only true thing missing from making this team complete is another high-scoring winger, and Kane fits that description perfectly. The only real area of concern for the Flames capturing the right winger is his lack of interest in playing for a Canadian market. The NTC will play a major role in where Kane ends up, and will definitely stop teams like Calgary from being able to obtain him.

If the Flames can somehow pull it off, Patty Kane will fit in nicely next to Huberdeau and Elias Lindholm on the first line, but only time will tell if they can pull it off.
