NFL Week 5 Odds and Betting Lines: Packers and Raiders Clash on MNF

The calendar has flipped to October and NFL Week 5 odds have just about wrapped.

The 2023 schedule keeps chugging along and Week 5 gave us a little bit of everything, including an early-morning London matchup and a potential NFC Championship preview on Sunday Night Football — although after that performance Dallas fans will be praying they never have to see the Niners again.

With the Sunday slate behind us, and Monday Night Football taking the prime-time stage, check out the odds for the remaining NFL Week 5 action.

NFL Week 5 Odds

These are the latest odds for Week 5, headlined by the Cowboys' collision with the 49ers on Sunday Night Football.

Jaguars/Bills will be played in London, England.

Just when you thought the Bears couldn’t get any lower, they blow a big lead to the Broncos and fall to 0-4. Chicago opened as a 5.5-point road underdog and this spread has jumped to as high as Washington -6.5 after the Commanders took the Eagles to the limit in Week 4.

The Bills scored the most impressive win of Week 4, leaving the rival Dolphins in the dust before jumping the pond for this UK showcase against the Jaguars. Buffalo opened as a 5-point neutral-site favorite and is up to -5.5 at many books as of Sunday night.

The Patriots opened as 2-point home favorites coming off a lopsided loss at Dallas in Week 4. Quarterback Mac Jones got the hook as the offense struggled in the second half but head coach Bill Belichick told the media he wasn’t benching Jones. Early money has shaved this spread down to New England -1.5 and the total is very low, opening at 40 points and sitting as low as 38.5 on Sunday night.

Pittsburgh quarterback Kenny Pickett left Week 4’s loss to Houston with a knee injury, leaving his status for this AFC North rivalry up in the air. Those books that did open this game led with Baltimore -3.5 and that has climbed to -4. The total is bouncing between 40 and 41 points on Sunday night.

The Giants looked terrible in their 24-3 loss to the Seattle Seahawks on Monday Night Football, and life doesn't get any easier in Week 5. The Dolphins lost big in Buffalo on Sunday, but opened as big 11.5-point home favorites for Sunday's home game against the struggling Giants.

Carolina looked bad in a 21-13 loss at Minnesota, failing to score an offensive touchdown. The Lions get a mini-bye to rest and prep for this Motown matchup, opening at -9 and jumping to as high as -10 on Sunday night at select sportsbooks.

The Falcons offense has put forth tallies of six and seven points the past two weeks. Atlanta doesn’t get a bye after playing in London in Week 4 and opened as a 3-point chalk at home to Houston. The Texans have won back-to-back games with scores of 30 and 37 points and are now as 2.5-point underdog in Week 5 as of Sunday night.

The Titans blasted the Bengals at home and now travel to Indianapolis for a key AFC South showdown with the Colts. Indianapolis rallied back from a big hole but fell in overtime to the L.A. Rams in Week 4. Early play on this game is all over the place, with some books dealing Tennessee -1 and others posting Indy -1. The total opened as low as 39.5 and it’s up to 42 points on Sunday night.

Cincinnati suffered a bad loss at Tennessee and this offense looks lost as Joe Burrow battles through a calf injury. The look-ahead line was as high as Bengals -7.5 but the official Week 5 opener was -5 and that’s dipped to as low as -4 across the industry on Sunday night.

The Eagles were -6.5 on the look-ahead line but after a bad showing against Washington, which required overtime to avoid an upset as 10-point faves, the official Week 5 spread hit the board at -5. This is as high as -5.5 on Sunday night with the total opening at 46.5 and moving up to 47 points. Los Angeles QB Matthew Stafford is nursing a hip injury but told the media he would be on the field in Week 5.

The biggest game on the Week 5 board sees San Francisco laying -3.5 at home to Dallas. The Over/Under total opened between 45 and 45.5 points with two loaded offenses but two defenses that rank among the best in the league. The 49ers defeated the Cowboys in the postseason in each of the past two seasons.

That break should help heal up some skill players nursing ailments ahead of this run-in with the Raiders. Las Vegas QB Jimmy Garoppolo missed Week 4 due to a concussion and his replacement, rookie Aidan O'Connell, played well. Could we have a QB controversy in Sin City? As of Sunday night, the Raiders are bouncing between -1 and +1 with the total at 44 points.
