NFL Week 2 Odds and Betting Lines: Saints Labeled Field Goal Faves On the Road

Football fans got their first full feast of NFL betting in Week 1 and to quote the infamous Frank The Tank, "Once it hits your lips, it's so good!"

Well, I hope you saved room for seconds.

Week 2 odds had no shortage of shockers, including two insane comeback wins in both Denver and Arizona. As for Sunday Night Football, Miami picked up the 24-17 win against New England to improve to 2-0. Lastly, Week 2 will close out with a Monday night double feature, with Cleveland taking on the Steelers, and New Orleans hitting the road to take on the Panthers.

Vikings vs Eagles odds

The Vikings got upset by the Bucs at home in Week 1, looking terribly sloppy on offense. Philadelphia wasn't sharp either, barely leaving New England with the win and cover. Most books opened Eagles -7.5 but some shops hit the board with Philly -8. The Eagles did beat the Vikings 24-7 at home last September as 2.5-point chalk.

The look-ahead line for this Week 2 game originally had the Falcons laying one point at home. But after the Cheeseheads battered the Bears in Week 1, books opened the official Week 2 spread with the Packers as 1-point road favorites. This total hit the board at a low 41.5 with two offenses anchored in the rushing game.

Despite a belly flop against the Jets on Monday, Buffalo is a 9-point home chalk to Las Vegas in Week 2. This is the second straight road game for the Raiders, who also have to rise and shine for a 1 p.m. ET kickoff - or 10 a.m. PT back in Sin City.

What was that? The Bengals' offense was supposed to be lighting up scoreboards like an X-mas tree but Cincinnati flopped in Week 1, managing only three points on 142 total yards in a bad loss to the Browns. Baltimore scored an easy win over Houston in the opener but lost RB JK Dobbins for the year to an Achilles injury, and OLs Ronnie Stanley and Tyler Linderbaum along with safety Marcus Williams are all scheduled for MRIs after leaving Sunday's game. Cincinnati opened -3 but this could go up depending on those Baltimore injuries.

After an impressive Week 1 win at Kansas City, the Lions opened as official 5.5-point home favorites versus Seattle in Week 2. And with the Seahawks defense having a tough time with the L.A. Rams in Week 1, some books are up to Detroit -6. The Lions get a mini bye to come down from that huge win at Arrowhead and are 13-4 ATS at home the past two seasons.

We have a battle of rookie quarterbacks in the AFC South in Week 2, maybe. Colts first-year passer Anthony Richardson left late into Week 1's loss to Jacksonville with a bruised knee but said he'll be OK. This opened as low as Texans -1 but we're seeing some operators dealing Houston -2. This total opened at 41 points but has slumped to 40 as of Sunday night.

Look-ahead lines have Jacksonville as a 3-point home underdog, but with Travis Kelce's status still up in the air and Chris Jones continuing his holdout, Kansas City is down to -2.5 at many books. The Jaguars got a scare from Indianapolis in Week 1 before coming through for bettors late while the Chiefs enjoyed a mini-bye to shake off their rough loss to Detroit last Thursday. This total opened at 50.5 points and is climbing to as high as 51.5.

The Bears got rolled by the rival Packers in front of their own fans and now head to Tampa Bay to face the 1-0 Bucs, who shocked the Vikings on the road Sunday. This spread opened Tampa Bay -2.5 and many books have jumped to -3 after seeing Chicago stumble in the season opener.

If you score 34 points, you should win the game. Only the Chargers would fail to come through with that many points on the scoreboard. Los Angeles is coming off a thrilling loss to Miami and hit the road to play a more methodical offense in the Titans. Some books were as short as L.A. -2.5 but the market has found a consensus at -3 on Sunday evening.

The Giants have a great opportunity to rid the bad taste of a 40-burger from their mouths, opening as 4.5-point road favorites at Arizona. The market is down on New York after Sunday night's shutout loss to Dallas and this spread has quickly dipped to -4.

An upset over Seattle isn't enough to win over oddsmakers, with the Rams getting a touchdown at home to the rival 49ers in Week 2. San Francisco's Week 1 waxing of the Steelers was more impressive and Kyle Shanahan has owned rival Sean McVay, with his Niners going 9-3 SU and ATS against L.A.

A rare loss in the home opener is not how Denver wanted to start the Sean Payton era. The Broncos stay at Mile High for Week 2, welcoming Washington. The Commanders kicked off their own fresh start with a win over Arizona, but it was an ugly victory. Denver hit the board with a half-point hook on the field goal and the total is installed at a low 40 points.

This total opened as low as 45.5 and has climbed to 46.5 with early play on the Over.
