The Seattle Seahawks meet the Los Angeles Rams for a Week 13 matchup, the first of two meetings between these NFC West teams in the next six weeks.

The Seahawks are trying to avoid a season-high three-game losing streak, while the Rams have dropped five straight games since their last win in Week 6 against the Carolina Panthers. L.A.’s narrow cover in Kansas City last week was also its first since that victory over the Panthers.

Who will win this battle of NFC West teams? We’ll discuss in our NFL picks and predictions for Seahawks vs. Rams on Sunday, December 3.

Seahawks vs Rams best odds

Seahawks vs Rams picks and predictions

The Seahawks are still above .500 despite losing QB Russell Wilson in the offseason. Nobody expected the ‘Hawks to compete, especially when they named journeyman QB Geno Smith as the replacement. But here we are.

The Rams won the Super Bowl last February, but they started off with a 31-10 loss against the Buffalo Bills in a marquee game. After some mixed results through the first six weeks, going 3-3 SU, the bottom fell out.

Injuries have been a major reason for the slide, as QB Matthew Stafford suffered a concussion, John Wolford started and then exited with a neck injury, and now the defending champs are using Bryce Perkins. He made his first NFL start last week, but the Rams fell to the Chiefs 26-10.

That isn’t the only position dealing with injuries, however. There have been issues in the backfield — the team recently lost WR Allen Robinson II to foot surgery, and WR Cooper Kupp, the all-everything wideout, is also likely done for the season. Toss in the fact DT Aaron Donald is out for Week 13, and things aren’t likely to go well for the struggling Rams.

My best bet: Seahawks -7 (-110 at BetMGM)

Seahawks vs Rams spread analysis

The Rams have won just three games overall, at a dismal 3-7-1 ATS mark. Los Angeles hasn’t covered in consecutive games this season, and the Rams covered last weekend against the Kansas City Chiefs at most shops.

The Rams are also 1-3 SU in four games inside the NFC West Division, as L.A. was swept by rival San Francisco, while splitting against Arizona. The Rams are also 0-3 ATS in the past three inside the division, and the Seahawks would love to add to their woes.

Seattle has been favored on three previous occasions this season, winning just once, a 27-13 victory against the New York Giants in Week 8. Seattle was favored at home by four points, the highest number this season, and it lost outright in OT to Las Vegas.

The books are finally starting to adjust to the poor play of the Rams. Los Angeles had been favored in six of its first nine games, but it has been an underdog in the previous two outings. This is the first time the Rams have been an underdog at home since Week 1 against the Bills, and were blasted 31-10 in that one with a healthy team.

The Rams catching seven is the second-biggest number of the season, and easily the biggest number at home.

We could look at the recent trends in this series, but so much has changed, even just from last season. Wilson is in Denver, Stafford is in a dark room trying to recover from a concussion, and a Smith vs. Wolford or Perkins matchup has never happened, so head-to-head trends mean diddly.

More importantly, the Rams are 3-9-1 ATS in the past 13 games, and 1-6 ATS in the past seven at home, while going 1-4 ATS inside the division. That’s what is driving this train to take the Seahawks.

Seahawks vs Rams Over/Under analysis

Seattle was trampled last week by the Las Vegas Raiders at Lumen Field, falling 40-34 in overtime. RB Josh Jacobs rumbled for over 200 yards on the ground, including an 86-yard touchdown run in the extra session to send the 12s home unhappy.

While the Seahawks allowed 283 rushing yards (and 293 passing) last week, that shouldn’t be a huge problem against the Rams. Los Angeles has managed just 79.7 yards per game on the ground to rank second-to-last in the NFL.

The fact that the Rams have no rushing threat in the backfield, and are down to either their second or third QB, means the offense will once again struggle, and the defense will have to do its best to slow down the Seahawks.

The Over has been huge for the Seahawks lately, but the Rams have little offense, and a strong defense. We’ll get another 24-10 type of game here, and Under 40.5 (-110 at BetMGM) is impressive, and a 7-point teaser play of Seahawks pick ‘em and Under 47.5 seems too good to be true.
