We're well into the summer months, which can mean only one thing. Week 1 of NFL action is just over a month away, and bettors can't be more excited. From Tom Brady pranking us all, Russell Wilson finally finding a new home, and Tyreek Hill heading to the sunny state, there has been no shortage of headline drama this offseason.

With that said, books now have a good understanding of which teams will be competing for postseason play, and which ones we'll see at the top of the lottery board come next year.

Check out every NFL team's future 2022 playoff odds — sans Cleveland — for the upcoming season.

AFC playoff odds 2022

How the odds work is very simple: "Yes" means that they advance to the NFL Playoffs (as a division champion or a wild card), while "No" means they miss the postseason... so better luck next year.

The NFC playoff odds are all set as well, with Tom Brady and the Buccaneers not only having the best odds to make the playoffs in the conference — but in the entire league (-650). The reigning Super Bowl champs are also -250 to make it back to the postseason, along with the Dallas Cowboys.

With so many great teams in the NFC this season, the playoff will be something to look forward to heading all the way into Week 18.

NFL Playoffs 2022 Format

The NFL Playoffs expanded prior to the 2020 season and will run the same format in 2022, with 14 teams in the postseason — seven from each Conference.

In each conference, the division winners will comprise the Nos. 1-4 spots, while the Nos. 5-7 spots will come via wild cards. The top seed in both the AFC and the NFC will get a first-round bye, with the other matchups proceeding as follows:

  • No. 2 seed vs. No. 7 seed (lowest-ranked wild card)
  • No. 3 seed vs. No. 6 seed
  • No. 4 seed (lowest-ranked division winner) vs. No. 5 seed (highest-ranked wild card)

After the first round, the No. 1 seed will face the lowest remaining seed in their conference, while the other two teams will square off. Those winners will meet in the conference championship, and then the winners of those games — the AFC and NFC champions — will meet in Super Bowl LVI on February 13, 2022 at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, CA.
