We are just about 24 hours from the 2022 NFL Draft, and even though Georgia’s Travon Walker is the favorite to be selected by the Jacksonville Jaguars, it feels likes we still aren’t sure who will actually be the first player to walk across the stage in Las Vegas on Thursday night.

All that intrigue and mystery has made the NFL Draft odds market go a little crazy. So, where is the betting value with the No. 1 overall pick?

Is Walker a lock? Will it be Aidan Hutchinson who was the favorite for most of this process? Or do the Jaguars have a surprise in store for us?

But maybe all that uncertainty has created some betting value when it comes to NFL Draft props for the No. 1 pick, including the exact position of that player.

Read below to find out why our latest NFL Mock Draft has Hutchinson going No. 1.

NFL Draft first overall pick prediction

  • Aidan Hutchinson Number 1 Overall Pick (+300) AND...
  • Position of Jacksonville Jaguars First Drafted Player - Offensive Lineman (+430)

Pick made on April 27, 2022.

Call me a skeptic. Call me an idiot. Call me whatever.

I don’t care.

The smoke around Travon Walker is obviously real as he’s the -300 favorite to go No. 1 overall. I just think that the Jaguars taking him there would be a huge mistake and I’m not buying all this money on him to be the first pick.

So, I’m fading it. More specifically I’m fading it with a bit of a hedge.

Aidan Hutchinson was the betting favorite to go No. 1 overall ever since the Jaguars used their franchise tag on Cam Robinson. If the Jaguars refuse to go the offensive lineman route, then Hutchison is probably the safest selection for them to make here.

The defensive end out of Michigan is the top player on many analysts’ boards with great size, and speed and has plenty of pass-rush moves. +300 is decent value for him to go No. 1.

But even with the Jaguars' offseason moves, the most obvious need is still offensive line. Frankly, protecting Trevor Lawrence should be priority No. 1, 2, and 3 for the Jags.

Both Evan Neal from Alabama and Ikem Ekwonu from North Carolina State fit the bill as No. 1 tackles. They are both athletic freaks with great technique and positional versatility to boot. Both project to be starting tackles in the league for a decade.

We will hedge the previous Hutchinson pick at +300 by placing a wager on the position of the Jaguars' first pick to be an offensive lineman at +430. As long as it’s not Walker at No. 1, we’re walking away with a profit.

Otherwise, I’m wrong and an idiot. But at least I'm not the Jaguars.
